National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) – 2019, which was conducted on 5 May 2019 and 20 May 2019 (at Odisha) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in all the recognised medical and dental colleges in the country except AIIMS and JIPMER.
The number of candidates who sat for the exam were 1410755, out of which 1516066 were Indian Nationals, 1884 were NRIs and 687 were foreigners. The exam was conducted across 2546 centres in the country spread over 154 cities of India. The exam was conducted in English, Hindi, Telugu, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, Kannada, Oriya and Urdu. The number of qualifying candidates who have scored 50 percentile (marks 701- 134) in the General category is 704335. The qualifying candidates scoring 40 percentile in OBC Category (marks 133-107) is 63789; 40 percentile in SC category (marks 133-107) is 20009; 40 percentile in ST Category (marks 133-107) is 8455
Nalin Khandelwal of Rajasthan has obtained 701 (99.9999291 percentile) and has topped the merit list. Bhavik Bansal of Delhi is second with 700 marks and Akshat Kaushik of Uttar Pradesh is third. Madhuri Reddy G of Telangana scored 695 marks and is first among the females, followed by Kirti Agrawal of Madhya Pradesh with 690 marks and Qureshi Asra of Andhra Pradesh at second and third positions.
The DGHS, Government of India will be conducting the counselling for 15% All India Quota seats, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, ESIC and AFMC seats, AMU and BHU.
The candidates will have to apply to their respective domicile states for the 85% state quota seats. The states will be releasing their separate merit lists. The state counselling authority will be also conducting the counselling for the private medical colleges.
