NEET SS 2025 Qualifying Cut-Off Reduced
There is good news for candidates preparing for admission to medical courses. The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reduced the minimum qualifying cut-off for NEET SSC to the 30th percentile. Candidates who score 175 out of 600 in NEET SS 2025 may now also be eligible for a medical seat.
Cutoff Reduced
The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) results were declared on 23 January 2025. It is one of the highest-level entrance examinations in India's medical field. However, gaining admission was previously somewhat difficult as the qualifying percentile was 50, but this has now been lowered to 30.
What Is the Reason for the Reduction in NEET SS 2025 Cut-Off?
The NEET SS exam was held on 26 and 27 December, but its results were declared on 23 January. After the second round of counselling, approximately 1,857 super-speciality seats remained vacant, for which the cut-off has been lowered.
NEET SS 2025 Cut-Off Reduced Following Supreme Court Order
The change to the qualifying cut-off for NEET SS 2025 was made following a Supreme Court order dated 19 September 2025. The court had permitted the reduction of the qualifying percentile to fill the vacant super-speciality medical seats. Following this, NBEMS has prepared the revised results and shared them with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
