Panjab University has again failed to make it to the QS World Ranking 2020. Rankings were released on Wednesday. Last year also university had failed to rank in the top 1000 institutions of the world. In 2017 it was ranked in the slab of 801-1000.
The QS rankings are based on parameters that include academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty and international students.
Dip In Student Faculty Ratio
As stated by director of the internal quality assurance cell (IQAC), PU, Ashish Jain “It is mainly in the faculty-student ratio that we lack behind,”. “This is where we lose points. Students are increasing every year and therefore, there is huge dip in the student-faculty ratio. If we compare this to other institutions in QS, they are three times better than us in this aspect.”
