Punjab government has decided to conduct the state-level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) on 13th December, 2020.
Students studying in class 10 are eligible for this exam. Punjab State NTSE 2020 have two parts: Part-I Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Part II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Qualifying marks for candidates from SC/ST/PH category is 32 percent in each paper and for others (General/OBC & EWS) categories it is 40% in each paper. The scholarship amount of Rs 1250 per month will be given to the students of class 11th and 12th. For undergraduates and post-graduate students, scholarship amount is Rs 2000 per month. Ph.D Scholarship Amount is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
The Punjab State will prepare a merit list of the candidates ensuring the minimum qualifying marks in both the tests separately. The result of Punjab State Level Talent Search examination will be declared in months of January/February. This examination will be used only to recommend the candidates for second level NTS examination conducted by the NCERT. The marks of this State level Examination will not be added to the National Level Examination for award of scholarship.
