Aligarh Muslim University Entrance Exam for Master of Business Administration 2020 or AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to MBA, MBA (International Business) and MBA (Islamic Banking and Finance). AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020 is conducted by Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.

The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. The result date will be announced later.

The minimum Academic Qualification for AMU Entrance Exam MBA (Hospital Administration) 2020 required are that students should have passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

Application Form Filling Instructions

Students applying for the AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020 have to fill up the application form on the official site.

Steps in Filling up the application form:

Step 1

  • Go to the Official site.

Step 2

  • Please go to the new candidate registration button and complete the registration process.
  • Candidate must provide Correct Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email Address as these details cannot be changed once the registration is complete.

Step 3

  • Candidate has to fill in the above mentioned details to receive the User ID and Password.
  • Candidate will receive the User ID on the registered email address and Password as SMS on the registered mobile number.

Step 4

  • Candidate can login with the User ID and Password to complete the application form for AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020.
  • For applying to the multiple courses Single Registration is sufficient.
  • Candidates are required to fill separate Application Forms for each course of study as detailed in this Guide. However, candidates should submit a single Application Form for courses for which a combined Test is to be conducted.

Step 5

  • Before completing the payment, the candidate can preview the application form and make any corrections, if required. Once the payment is done, no changes are allowed. Once done the candidate will agree to the declaration by ticking the appropriate box and submitting the form. The final application form should be printed and a copy kept with you.

A student can submit the application for only once; multiple forms will be rejected. 

Application Forms shall be rejected if 

  • Submitted incomplete.
  • Not submit on prescribed form.
  • Submitted without requisite fee.
  • Submitted after last date.

Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020 :

  • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity  
  • Qualification details
  • Scanned copy of each photograph in JPG or JPEG format (size between 20 KB and 200 KB).
  • Functional e-mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
  • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone number can be used.
  • For online payments, usually a valid debit or credit card as well as Net B facility, UPI or PAYTM Service is a must.
  • Printer is required for keeping hard copies; if there is no printer, one can save the printouts, transfer them on to a pen drive and get it printed from a cyber - cafe.
  • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill up the form.
  • Candidates are not allowed to make any correction at a later stage after submission of an application. O correction is entertained via post, fax, email or by hand.

Syllabus for AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020

The Questions for the test shall be based from a Common Syllabus as notified in the Prospectus or Information Brochure of AMU Entrance Exam MBA 2020 as set by the Aligarh Muslim University. One is required to study according to the given Syllabus.

  • Environmental Awareness

Characteristics of Indian economy, basic economic indicators, industrial, trade, fiscal, budgetary and monetary policies, Indian banking system and its functioning, awareness about corporate sector, Indian and international trade, economic agreements, changes in political, technological and cultural environments, and current affairs.

  • Quantitative and Numerical Ability

Percentage, ratio, proportion time and distance, relative speed, time and work, interest, stocks, shares and discount, rules of divisibility, HCF and LCM, power, exponents and roots, algebraic equations, elementary geometry angle, line, polygon, solids, cylinders, perimeter, volume, circles, tangent to circle, sphere, etc., linear and quadratic equations, basics of trigonometry and coordinate geometry.

  • Comprehension and Verbal Ability

Comprehension at paragraph and sentence level, identification of mistakes, grammar and usage, word formation, synonyms, antonyms, pairing of words, analogies, sentence structure and construction, active and passive voice, prepositions, completion of sentences, etc. 

  • Reasoning and Intelligence

This may include verbal reasoning and verbal analogy, letter series, number series, coding and decoding, logical diagrams, and syllogism, etc.

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation 

Sets – Union and intersection, frequency and class intervals, cumulative frequencies and various types of graphic diagrams used in interpretation, basic of probability, and permutation and combination.

Examination Day Instructions

Preparation for the Exam Day

  • The Admit card should be downloaded and printed Immediately.
  • A few copies of the Admit Card should be kept in reserve as these are also used at the time of admission and counselling.
  • Documents to be taken to the Exam centre should be kept ready.
  • Stationary related articles as mentioned should be kept ready.
  • Dress related details will also be provided in the prospectus as well as with the admit card and should be followed.
  • Items not to be taken to the Exam centre or barred should be noted.

Test Centre Details

  • The information of the Test centre allocated is provided along with admit card.  
  • It includes the address of the centre.
  • One should locate the centre on Google Maps.
  • It is a good practice and strongly advised to visit the centre one day before to know about the time taken to reach the centre. By doing so one can reach well in time on the examination day. It prevents wastage of time trying to locate the centre and thus avoids the stress created, if the centre is not easy to find.

Examination Day Instructions:

Before entering the Exam Centre  

  • Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.  
  • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
  • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
  • If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
  • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
  • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
  • Usually no bags are allowed.
  • No eatables are allowed.
  • No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager / wireless set, scanner, camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
  • Calculators are not allowed in the exam.

After entering the centre

  • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.  
  • If mentioned, candidates will be hand frisked as well as photographed or video graphed before entering the centre
  • After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
  • No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the expiry of half of the time allotted for the respective paper.
  • For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
  • Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
  • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
  • The candidates are to return their OMR answer-sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
  • Smoking is a not allowed.
  • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
  • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.
  • Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.
