Guru Nanak Dev University Common Entrance Test for Master of Pharmacy 2022 or GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022 is the entrance examination for admission to M.Pharm.. GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022 is conducted by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

GNDU CET M.Pharm. for the year 2022 has been announced by Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and will be held on 17/07/2022. The application forms will be available from 05/05/2022 till 11/07/2022. The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. Result is expected to be announced on 18/07/2022.

GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The Minimum Academic Qualifications for GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022 required:

  •  B. Pharmacy Degree examination from an Indian University established by law in India, from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55% or equivalent CGPA of the maximum marks (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate of 4 years of B.Pharmacy.
  • Every student, selected for admission to Post Graduate Pharmacy program in any PCI approved institution should have obtained registration with the State Pharmacy Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.
  • 80% seats are reserved for candidates who have qualified GPAT and passed B.Pharmacy examination of Guru Nanak Dev University. However, if eligible candidate(s) are not available under above category, the vacant seats shall be open to the candidates who have qualified GPAT and B. Pharm. examination from other Universities.

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    • Students applying for the GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022 have to fill up the application form on the official site.
    • The student can submit the application only once. Multiple forms will be rejected.
    • The submission is ONLINE only.

    Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022:

    • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity
    • Qualification details
    • Scanned copy of passport photograph and signature in JPG or JPEG format.
    • Functional e-mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
    • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone number can be used.
    • For online payments, usually a valid debit or credit card as well as Net Banking facility, UPI or PAYTM Service is a must.
    • Printer is required for keeping hard copies; if there is no printer, one can save the printouts, transfer them on to a pen drive and get it printed from a cyber-cafe.
    • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill-up the form.

    The Usual Steps in filling up the Online Application Form of the GNDU CET M.Pharm. 2022:

    • Step-1: Students have to register for Online Application Form. A login and Password are created.
    • Step-2: Student has to complete the Application Form and its various sections
    • Step-3: Required documents in the form of Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph, Candidate’s Signature and Left Thumb Impression.
    • Step-4: Payments have to be made by Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI / PAYTM

    Natural Products: Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry- Chemistry, tests, isolation, characterization and estimation of phytopharmaceuticals belonging to the group of Alkaloids, Glycosides, Terpenoids, Steroids, Bioflavanoids, Purines, Guggulipids. Pharmacognosy of crude drugs that contain the above constituents. Standardization of raw materials and herbal products. WHO guidelines. Quantitative microscopy including modern techniques used for evaluation. Biotechnological principles and techniques for plant development, Tissue culture.

    Pharmacology: General pharmacological principles including Toxicology. Drug interactions. Pharmacology of drugs acting on Central nervous system, Cardiovascular system, Autonomic nervous system, Gastro intestinal system and Respiratory system. Pharmacology of Autocoids, Hormones, Hormone antagonists, chemotherapeutic agents including anticancer drugs. Bioassays, Immuno Pharmacology. Drugs acting on the blood & blood forming organs. Drugs acting on the renal system.

    Medicinal Chemistry: Structure, nomenclature, classification, synthesis and SAR of the following category of drugs, which are official in Indian Pharmacopoeia and British Pharmacopoeia. Introduction to drug design. Stereochemistry of drug molecules. Hypnotics and Sedatives, Analgesics, NSAIDS, Neuroleptics, Antidepressants, Anxiolytics, Anticonvulsants, Antihistaminics, Local Anaesthetics, Cardio Vascular drugs – Antianginal agents Vasodilators, Adrenergic & Cholinergic drugs, Cardiotonic agents, Diuretics, Antihypertensive drugs, Hypoglycemic agents, Antihyperlipedmic agents, Coagulants, Anticoagulants, Antiplatelet agents. Chemotherapeutic agents-Antibiotics, Antibacterials, Sulpha drugs. Antiproliozoal drugs, Antiviral, Antitubercular, Antimalarial, Anticancer, Antiamoebic drugs, Diagnostic agents. Preparation and storage and uses of official Radiopharmaceuticals, Vitamins and Hormones. Eicosonoids and their application.

    Pharmaceutics: Formulation, preparation and evaluation of solid, liquid and semi-solid dosage forms. Manufacturing standards, Quality control limits, labeling as per the Pharmacopoeial requirements, Storage conditions of different dosage forms. Concept of microencapsulation and its applications. Introduction to Novel drug delivery systems such as Nanoparticles, Liposomes, Niosomes etc. Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics and their importance in drug product design. Formulation and preparation of cosmetics products, Sterilization techniques, Pharmaceutical calculations. Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence: Drugs and Cosmetics Act and rules with respect to manufacture, sales and storage. Pharmacy Act, pharmaceutical ethics.

    Pharmaceutical Analysis: Principles, instrumentation and applications of the following: Absorption spectroscopy (UV, visible & IR). Fluorimetry, Flame photometry, Potentiometry. Conductometry and Polorography. Pharmacopoeial assays. Principles of NMR, ESR, Mass spectroscopy. X-ray diffraction analysis and different chromatographic methods.

    Biochemistry: Biochemical role of hormones, Vitamins, Enzymes, Nucleic acids, Bioenergetics.General principles of immunology. Metabolism of carbohydrate, lipids, proteins. Methods to determine, kidney & liver function and lipid profiles.

    Microbiology: Principles and methods of microbiological assays mentioned in the Pharmacopoeia. Methods of preparation of official sera and vaccines. Serological and diagnostics tests. Applications of microorganisms in Bio-conversions and in the Pharmaceutical industry.

    Clinical Pharmacy: Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, dosage regimen in pregnancy and lactation, pediatrics and geriatrics, renal and hepatic impairment. The drug-drug interactions and drug–food interactions, adverse drug reactions. teratogenicity, prescription writing, clinical trials (Overview), patient counseling.

    Examination Day Instructions

    Before entering the Exam Centre:

    • Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card.
    • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
    • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
    • If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
    • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
    • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
    • Usually no bags are allowed.
    • No eatables are allowed.
    • Handbag / Carry bag / Mobile phone / calculator / watch / any other electronic gadget or any paper (other than the Admit Card) shall not be allowed inside the Test Hall / Room.

    After entering the centre:

    • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.
    • After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
    • For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
    • Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
    • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
    • The candidates are to return their OMR answer - sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
    • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
    • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.
    • Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.
