Joint Entrance Examination Main (January) 2020 or JEE Main (January) 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch. and Bachelor of Planning. JEE Main (January) 2020 is conducted by National Testing Agency.
JEE Main (January) for the year 2020 has been announced by National Testing Agency and will be held from 06/01/2020 to 11/01/2020. The application forms will be available from 03/09/2019 till 10/10/2019. The exam is in online mode. The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes. It is being conducted in English, Hindi and Gujrati languages. Admit card will be available from 06/12/2019. Result is expected to be announced on 17/01/2020.
Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) 2020
For appearing in the JEE (Main) examination there is no age limit for the For appearing in the JEE (Main) examination there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination – 2020. The candidates should also satisfy themselves about their fulfilling the age limit requirements of the Institutes in which they are desirous of taking admission. The candidates must note that the IITs have an age limit/restriction, which will be published in JEE(Advanced)-2020 Information Brochure.
Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 or 2019; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent a qualifying examination in 2020 are eligible to appear in January JEE(Main)-2020 Examination.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020. Candidates must note that the IITs permit only two attempts for the JEE (Advanced), i.e. a candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2019 or 2020, subject to the condition of not having been admitted at an IIT on earlier occasion. Details may be obtained from the Information Brochure of the JEE (Advanced) 2020.
For admission to a participating institute, please see the reservations applicable in that particular institute. In case of institutes run by Central Government,10% of the seats are reserved for Category General-Economically Weaker Section(GEN-EWS), 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the “ Non Creamy layer” (OBC-NCL). Each category will have 5% reservations for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as defined in The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016).
Other Backward Classes - Non Creamy Layer (OBC–NCL) are as per the Central list of Other Backward Classes available on National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), Government of India website Thus, the candidates falling in this list may mention OBC in the Category Column. State list OBC Candidates who are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General.

Guidelines to Candidates for Computer Based Test
For those who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of tests for any reason, the NTA shall not be responsible for conduct of re-test, under any circumstances.
The January JEE(Main)-2020 has been conducted throughout the country and abroad from 06 th January to 09th January 2020 through the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode in which 934828 candidates were registered.
The National Testing Agency has uploaded the Answer Key for candidates to challenge. The procedure (as enclosed) for challenge of Answer Key may be used.
This facility is available from 13.01.2020 to 15.01.2020 (upto 11:50 PM)).
The Candidates are required to pay online a sum of Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) as processing fee for each question challenged. The processing fee will be refunded if the challenge is found correct. No challenge will be entertained without receipt of processing fee. The payment of the processing fee may be made through Debit/Credit Card/ Net Banking.

Compilation and display of Result for January 2020: Since, January JEE (Main)-2020 B.Arch and B.Planning will be conducted in multi-shifts, the raw marks obtained by all the candidates who appeared will be converted into NTA score and declared by 31st January, 2020. This shall comprise of four NTA scores for each of the three parts (Mathematics, Aptitude Test, Drawing Test or Planning Based Test) and total in B.Arch/B.Planning of January JEE(Main)-2020.
There shall be no provision for re-valuation/re-checking of the Score. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an examination conducting body and not an admission giving authority. Therefore, NTA does not collect the information regarding total number of seats available in the institutions, or the eligibility and reservation criteria followed by the institutions.
