Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test for Master of Arts 2020 or MGUCAT M.A. 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to M.A. (Politics and International Relations), M.A. (Politics and Human Rights), M.A. (Politics Public Policy and Governance), M.A. (Economics), M.A. (Malayalam) and other courses. MGUCAT M.A. 2020 is conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

MGUCAT M.A. for the year 2020 has been announced by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and will be held from 06/10/2020 to 07/10/2020. The application forms will be available from 20/02/2020 till 20/04/2020. The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. It is being conducted in English and Malayalam languages. The result date will be announced later.

M.A. MalayalamBachelor’s degree in Malayalam with not less than 45% marks (or CGPA of 1.8) in Part III or degree in Arts/Science with a minimum of 50% marks in Part II Malayalam

    • Candidates are required to read the prospectus carefully so as to make them fully aware of the rules/procedures related to Application / Entrance Exam /Option Registration / Allotment and all other important matters related to MGUCAT M.A. 2020.
    • The eligibility of a candidate is not verified at the time of application and it will be verified only during the admissions. Hence, candidates are advised to ensure their eligibility for the courses they have applied for.
    • The appearance of a candidate in the MGUCAT M.A. 2020, or inclusion of a candidate in the rank lists or allotment does not entitle him/her for admission to a Programme, unless the rules regarding eligibility for admission, as laid down in the Prospectus under various Clauses, are satisfied.
    • All candidates shall register through online mode only.
    • Mahatma Gandhi University will not entertain any request for change of schedule.
    • Candidates applying for various programmes must make sure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed under the relevant chapter of this Prospectus before filling up the online application.

    FOREIGN STUDENTS

    An additional 20 percentage of seats (over and above the sanctioned strength ) or 2 seats, whichever is higher is earmarked for foreign students for each PG programme in the University Teaching Departments. International students admission process will be through International Students Admission Committee(ISAC) co - ordinated by University Center for International Co-operation (UCIC - website, email – ucicmgu@gmail.com). Foreign Students are exempted from the requirement of entrance test. They can apply either on self or through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) attached to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The ICCR offers a number of scholarships to enable International students to pursue higher studies in Universities and other recognized institutions of higher learning in India. The international students (except Govt. of India sponsored scheme) are required to submit the application online (through admission portal) by paying the application fee of US$ 100 (equivalent Indian Rupees on the date of payment) through international payment facility before the stipulated time(see schedule) attaching the following documents (all in English Version).

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    Students applying for the MGUCAT M.A. 2020 have to fill up the application form on the official site. A student can submit the application for only once; multiple forms will be rejected. 

    Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of  MGUCAT M.A. 2020

    • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity
    • Qualification details
    • Scanned copy of passport photograph in PG, JPEG, PNG or GIF format (below 30kb of file size).
    • Functional e-mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
    • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone number can be used.
    • For online payments, usually a valid debit or credit card as well as Net Banking facility, UPI or PAYTM Service is a must..
    • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill up the form.

    The Usual Steps in filling up the Online Application Form of the MGUCAT M.A. 2020:

    • Step-1: Students have register for Online Application Form. Login and Password are created.
    • Step-2: Required documents in the form of Scanned Images of the Candidate’s Photographs.
    • Step-3: Student has to complete the Application Form and its various sections - Entering Personal Details, Qualifying Exams and Options for Various Programmes
    • Step-5: Entrance test centre
    • Step-6: Declaration
    • Step-7: Payments have to be made by Credit / Debit cards and Internet Banking.
    • Step-8: The final application form should be printed and a copy kept with you.

    Examination Day Instructions

    Before entering the Exam Centre:

    • Try to reach the exam centre prior to the time advised in the admit card.
    • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
    • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
    • Usually no bags are allowed.
    • No eatables are allowed.
    • No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager / wireless set, scanner, camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
    • Calculators are not allowed in the exam.
    • Remember to carry your admit card with a valid photo id proof. No candidate will be allowed to enter into examination hall without admit card.

    After entering the centre:

    • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat.
    • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
    • The candidates are to return their OMR answer - sheets and the question paper in full to the Centre Superintendent. Tearing or taking away of the question paper is not allowed failing which the candidates shall be disqualified from the entire Entrance Test.
    • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
    • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.
