• Rs.250 for SC/ST and Differently-abled candidates, other candidates should pay Rs. 500/. 

• Candidates are advised to carefully read the regulations of Ph.D. which is available in the Website www.periyaruniversity.ac.in (Part time mode applicants are requested to pay more attention before filling the applications).
• Online application form must be completed in all respect as per notification.
• For applying online application, the applicant’s should have scanned image of their community certificate, PG mark statements, passport size photograph and signature to upload the same in appropriate places.
• A valid e-mail ID and Mobile Number are mandatory to apply for CET through online. E-mail ID and Mobile Number are to be kept in active mode. All communication will be sent to the registered email ID.
• Steps to fill the application form:
• Step 1: Log in on the official website
• Step 2 : Click Admission menu and then click Research submenu
• Step 3 : Click on-line portal
• Step 4 : Click Ph.D. Entrance Box

The application will be available

• The application should be filled on-line only and the fee can be paid once all the information filled in the application. The Examination fee for Common Entrance Test is fixed Rs.250 for SC/ST and Differently-abled candidates, other candidates should pay Rs. 500/. The certificate proof for community and differently-abled category should be duly self-attested and uploaded.
• After submitting the details in the application, applicant’s can choose any one of the following modes for making payment of application fee.
•  Net Banking
• Debit Card / Credit Card
• After entering all details including the payment in the online application form, applicant has to wait for receiving the intimation from the server. Meanwhile DO NOT press “Back” or “Refresh” button to avoid payment failure or double Payment
• The applicant can modify certain fields till the last date specified. 
• After supplying all the requisite information in the application and payment of fees candidates are requested to take a printout of the filled in application form and submit the same to the University along with the copies of the certificates uploaded either by post or in person.

CANCELLATION OF Ph.D. REGISTRATION

• The candidates who have not taken Part I course work examination and the minutes of the meeting of the Doctoral Committee are not forwarded to the University for confirmation of provisional registration on completion of one year, their registration shall be cancelled by the University in the 18th month from the date of provisional registration.
• In the case of recommendation for cancellation of the registration by the Supervisor, the candidate shall be intimated about the grounds on which the registration is being proposed for cancellation. In case of any representation from the candidate within two weeks, the Coordinator, Research & Development shall refer the matter to the Grievance Redressal Committee which may either suggest cancellation or change of Supervisor based on the merit of the case. The decision of the committee shall be final. If the candidate requested himself / herself for cancellation of registration, same may be refered to the Grievance Redressal Committee. 
• If the conditions are not fulfilled the registration will automatically be cancelled.

Admission through the two stages:

• An Entrance Test consists of both written test and oral interview. The written test will be conducted for 40 marks and oral interview for 10 marks. Candidates securing 50% altogether shall be declared eligible for admission. Those candidates scored at least 15 marks in the written test will be called for oral interview. Rank list may be prepared based on entrance test (50%) and P.G. marks (50%).
• An interview to be organized to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Department Research Committee to cheek the candidate’s competence for the proposed research.
