VITEEE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria in the Qualifying Examination:
  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2019 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology in the qualifying examination (+2 / Intermediate).

The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories:

  • Candidates belonging to SC / ST.
  • Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
  • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes.
  • Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bio-engineering and B.Tech. Biotechnology programmes. They are also eligible for B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Spl. in Bioinformatics) and Electronics and Communication with spl. in Biomedical Engineering but after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2019 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2019, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:

  • The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi.
  • Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board / University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London / Cambridge / Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • As per VIT Norms, Regular 'NIOS' board candidates are also eligible for VITEEE. They should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining. Other Open School candidates are not eligible for VITEEE.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the +2 exam through different boards in the same academic year are not eligible to appear for VITEEE-2019. 

Age Limit : Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1997 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2019. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing for which they will be disqualified.


  • The applicant for admission should be a Resident / Non Resident Indian National.
  • Foreign Candidates studied / studying abroad can apply directly through foreign category only. A separate application form is made available. Kindly check our website for details.

    More Information

    Candidates will not be allowed to attend the test, without the following documents. Candidate should report to the selected test centre with:

    • e-Admit card and
    •  Any one of the following for photo identification.
    • School or college Photo ID card
    • Twelfth Standard board exam hall ticket (or) admit card bearing photo
    • Aadhar Card
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • Voter ID card
    • IT Pan card

    It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualifications for admission. Having been called for the test / counselling does not necessarily mean acceptance of the eligibility. If found ineligible at any point of time he / she will be treated as ineligible and admission will be cancelled as per the norms.

    It is mandatory that all the original relevant documents (such as Marks statement, Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, etc.,) should be submitted to the Admissions Office at the time of admission.

    Admission to various programmes is however, subject to verification of facts from the original certificates / documents of the candidates. In case, any discrepancy arises, even at a later point of time after admission, the management reserves all rights to cancel the candidate's admission and this decision shall be final.

    Important Note:

    It has been announced through the Information Bulletin of VITEEE- 2019 that this Examination will be conducted between 10.04.2019 and 21.04.2019.

    Election Commission of India has declared the dates for General Election on 11th , 18th, 23rd and 29th April 2019 as well as on 6th, 12th and 19th May 2019. Considering the Election dates and the JEE (Main) April Exam dates, the Dates for the VITEEE - 2019 is hereby announced as under:

    Note: Proposed schedule of VITEEE-2019 is based on the number of applications received in particular test city. During hall ticket booking, please select and confirm the Date / Session / Subject (VITEEE-test subject) carefully. Under any circumstances the selected Date / Session / Subject (Test subject) will not be altered. Booking the session and the subject is the responsibility of the applicant. 

    As informed earlier, the VITEEE-2019 exam will be conducted on all days and in all sessions in the following venues (except election dates).

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    Stage 1: New User Registration: 

    • Enter all the relevant details carefully.
    • A password will be sent from VIT to your registered mobile no. and email id.
    • All the VITEEE communications will be sent to your registered email id and mobile no. Request for change of Mobile Number / e-mail Id / Correspondence address will not be entertained under any circumstances.

    Stage 2: Confirmation of password

    • Login to 'Registered users' with the email id and password received from VIT.

    Stage 3: Filling Online application form

    • Provide all relevant details carefully, before submission.
    • An application number will be generated after submission.
    • Refer your application no. for all your future correspondence.

    Stage 4: Mode of payment

    • Online mode through Netbanking / Credit / Debit card / Paytm. Application Cost Rs.1150/- for General Candidates.
    • NRI and Candidates opting abroad Test centres should pay USD 50 through online mode using credit card.

    Stage 5: Photo and Signature Upload

    • Photograph Image : Size should be between 10 KB and 200 KB with the dimension of 3.5 CM X 4.5 CM.
    • Signature Image : Size should be between 10 KB and 200 KB with the dimension of 3.5 CM X 1.5 CM.
    • Selfie photo is not allowed.

    Stage 6: Payment transaction queries

    • At the time of transaction, if the amount is debited please do not try new application. Please wait for 48 hrs and try for the payment once again in the same registered email id.
    • If the amount is not debited, you can try the payment again.

    More Information

    • Online mode (Net banking / Debit card / Credit card / Paytm) - Do not send the hardcopy of the application form after the process of completion.
    • NRI and Candidates opting abroad Test centres should pay USD 50 through online mode using credit card.

      Examination Day Instructions

      • Not allowed to carry any text material, printed or written, bits of papers or any material except the e-Admit card inside the test hall. 
      • Not permitted to carry any electronic devices like mobile phones, paging devices, calculators, spy cameras and music systems.
      • Not allowed to go outside the test hall till the completion of the entire duration of the exam time.
      • Not allowed to eat or drink anything (snacks, tea, coffee and cool drinks etc.) inside the test hall. Plain water bottles with nothing written or printed on them will be allowed.
      • Violation of any instruction and adoption of any unfair means in the examination hall will make the candidate ineligible for admission.
      • Impersonation (or any such crimes) will be reported to Police.

      More Information

      • The e-Admit card will be made available for candidates in Candidate should provide the application form number and Online Test Booking password to download the e-Admit card.
      • The copy of the e-Admit card will also be emailed to the candidate.
      • Candidates must provide a valid email ID on the application form. The e-Admit card will not be despatched to candidates via post or fax. 
      • Candidates should ensure that a printer is connected to their computer while printing the e-Admit card. 
      • Candidates should take a print out of the e-Admit card using the print option on A4 size paper only. Please ensure that all information on the e-Admit card including photograph is clearly visible on the print out.
      • Candidates will not be permitted to appear for the test without valid e-Admit card. Candidates must not mutilate the e-Admit card.
