Eligibility: Any graduate of Bangalore University or of any other University recognized by the Bangalore University as equivalent there to who is physically fit and satisfies any of the following conditions will be eligible for admission to B. P. Ed. Degree Course. (a) Graduate in Physical Education i.e., B.P.E of three year duration with 45% marks. OR Graduate with at-least 40% marks, having represented State/University: Sports/ Games/Athletics/as per the list of sports of A.I.U. OR Graduate with at-least 40% marks who has secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd position in University Inter-Collegiate sports/games tournaments or possessing NCC ‘C’ Certificate or passed basic course in adventure sports OR Graduate with at-least 45% having marks participated in Inter collegiate/Inter-District/Divisional Level Sports/Games tournament OR Graduate with at-least 45% marks and one year training programme in sports science, sports management sports coaching, Yoga, Olympic Education, sports Journalism etc. Physical fitness of the candidates is assessed by administering National Physical Fitness Program Tests of India as indicated in Regulation 6. (b) Candidates seeking admission to B. P. Ed Degree course should be below 26 years of age, 28 years age for SC/ST and Cat-I, as on 1St July of the year of admission. The age is relaxable up-to 30 years for outstanding sports persons. Outstanding sports person means a candidate who has participated in recognized Inter-University/Inter-State/Inter-National sports or games competitions. However in case of in-service candidates trained Physical Education Teachers and coaches, the age is relaxed up-to 35 years, subject to condition that, they are medically fit. All candidates shall produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a medical officer of not less than the rank of district surgeon along with the application.
