What to do after 12th Commerce without Maths?
A general dilemma runs among students pursuing commerce stream after class 10, whether to take up mathematics as one of the subjects or not. The main reason for the same is the fear of having their options narrowed down after completing class 12. The truth remains in the fact that there are a large number of options available to be explored and taken up, even without maths.
Students who take up commerce consider taking up careers in management, law, banking, accountancy, to name a few. The following are some of the courses considered appropriate to pursue after 12th commerce without maths.
1. Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com.): The most popular option for selection after 12th commerce is this 3 year long undergraduate programme. It can be pursued as general B.Com or specialised program, depending upon interest and aptitude.
2. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): This 3 year-long course offers in-depth knowledge in fields equipped with managerial, administrative and knowledge of business. This would further help build up profiles such as consultant, HR manager, Business analyst, etc. Any PG diploma or Master’s Program like MBA can be pursued after completion of BBA.
3. Law: The fusion of commerce and law becomes a popular choice among students, who have options to study integrated law courses such as B.Com LLB, BBA LLB and BA LLB.
4. Bachelors of Hotel Management (BHM): This course equips the students with a set of specific skills which are industry specific and are based on various ways of customer handling and public dealing. This 3 year long program created opportunities in hospitality and hotel management, with a high job oriented prospect.
5. Company Secretary: CS as a profession offers an exceptionally well organised work culture. Big MNCs usually hire them at senior managerial posts, offering great salaries and reputation. The main job of a CS professional is the overall handling of responsibilities, including the formulation of business policies, internal auditing, promotion of brands, to name a few.
Apart from these, other career choices include bachelor of Management Studies, Accountancy programs, Bachelor of Foreign Trade, Tourism courses, Retail Management, BA, BFA, animation courses, event management and various other diploma courses.
