Introduction
Our health and lifestyle greatly depend on what kind of activities we are involved in. Adopting wrong habits and getting influenced by unproductive environment impacts us negatively. At an early age, the need to learn about new things and making use of one’s creativity is very important. Young minds should be kept in a very productive and protected environment in order to promote growth and development. One of the activities that students or people of any age can engage themselves into is exercising. Exercising regularly makes your life balanced and your brain healthy.
How does it actually help
Some of the known benefits of exercising regularly are it helps us to improve our physical health, makes our mind healthy. Improves concentration, uplift our mood and makes us more energetic. We all know that a healthy body equals a healthy mind. Having a healthy lifestyle and involving oneself with good habits, improves our physical health. Indulging less into unhealthy food habits, exercising regularly and drinking lots of water keeps us active and helps us better focus on our studies. When we exercise, our body produces a protein called FNDC5 that is released into the bloodstream that prompts the brain to produce another protein called BDNF. The protein BDNF makes the body grow more nerves and supports the existing nerve cells. Exercise makes our brain stronger and supports it to improve our learning. The area of our brain responsible for information retention reacts positively to the proteins. Maintaining our concentration while studying is very important as it helps us maintain the flow and retain the information. Exercising 20-30 minutes prior to studying makes our mind prepared and improves our concentration. Discipline plays a major role in making a person a good learner. To inculcate discipline in one’s lifestyle, we can indulge into regular exercise, playing sports, meditating or doing yoga.
Mental Exercises
While studying, there a lot of times when we go through emotional patches and are unable to focus. Due to the negative mindset and miring mood, it becomes impossible to learn and retain the information. When we exercise, instead of just the mind being affected by the stress, our entire body feels it and releases the pressure of the mind. It also increases our energy levels so that we can study better and with a lot of interest. The brain and body start functioning so well that it increases our cognitive performance. It's not just physical exercise but also the mental workout we can do like solving puzzles, crosswords, sudoku, etc. These games help our mind develop critical thinking and makes us understand the concepts easily.
All in all, exercising regularly has proved to be beneficial for students every time. It makes them a better learner and helps them focus well. It becomes very important to focus on the benefits of exercising and inculcate it in our lifestyle.
