CLAT 2023: CHANGES

The entrance test like CLAT demands a lot of focus for the preparation along with the determination and focus along with the perseverance inside your mind. According to the notice which had been issued by the consortium on November 21, 2019, on National Law Universities. This notice says that CLAT 2023 will undergo major changes in its structure. This was a surprise to all of us.

But the major change which had been done in CLAT 2023 is in its pattern. According to a press release, the exam will be having comprehension based questions from the Quantitative Techniques, English, Current Affairs, Deductive Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning. Now, the number of questions has reduced from 200 to 120-150.

But still, the timings haven’t been changed. Therefore the timing of the exam will be two hours and will be offline mode. Prof Mustafa, the president of the consortium, had explained that the idea is to take better students to the National Law Universities who have a better competency in reading text and in demonstrating skills in the inferential reasoning.

There are so many points that you can keep in mind while preparing for CLAT 2023

SPEED- The most essential factor which will gonna help you to get your name on the merit list is maintaining speed in the exam. Since the exam is of 2 hours on which 150 questions need to be solved, the student should need to solve the questions within time.

ACCURACY- Another essential factor with speed is accuracy. With maintaining the time limit you have to maintain accurate time, like if you have 2 hours and 150 questions that means the time you are taking to complete each question is one minute to two minutes.

TIME MANAGEMENT- the most imperative method to clear the exam is time management. Manage your time smartly, solve those questions first, which are easier to solve and are easy.

PRACTICE HARD- practice makes a man perfect. Therefore, practice as much as you can, this is one of the major formulae to gain success. Practice the questions till the last day. This will improvise the performance and will definitely help the students with time management.

COMPLETE YOUR PREPARATION BEFORE-HEAD- read and prepare all the topics before a month of the exam. Keep your last days for only the revision of your previous topics. Do not start preparing any new topic in the last few days of the exam. Focus on the topics you have already prepared in the last few days.

REVISE THE PREVIOUS YEAR PAPER- usually, it has been seen in CLAT paper that the maximum questions which come in the exam are the compilation of the previous year question paper. Therefore, it will be beneficial for you to prepare the previous year’s question paper rather than going through the entire syllabus.

SECTION WISE TIPS

GENERAL AWARENESS- as per the new notification, the GK section in the CLAT will be having Current affairs now. This section is very important because it will be helping the students to save time and can be used to allocate more time to the other sections of the exam. This section will also help you to increase the overall score due to its direct and factual questions. This year, the expectations are that the questions will be having more reading and this will test the student’s understanding of ongoing important news and events.

NUMERIC ABILITY- mathematics is a subject from which most of the students are scared. But if you have a basic understanding of the concepts, and they are practicing it daily, then it would be easy for them to ace this section. Reading questions will be quite difficult for anyone to solve, but if you practice them daily then it will become easy from time to time. Candidates must practice a number of quantitative aptitude questions. The questions which cover a varied number of topics including Number systems, Percentages, Time Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, and Probability.

LOGICAL REASONING- this section is again very tricky. But if you practice it daily then it will become easy for you to ace this section. The unfamiliarity of the students with this section makes it difficult. The questions which come in this section are based on Coding-Decoding, Family Tree, Arrangements, Syllogisms, and Critical Reasoning. The most important topic is critical reasoning, and according to the notification, the most emphasis will be given on the inferential-based reading.

VERBAL ABILITY- this section will check the reading skill of a student. Most of the students avoid reading comprehension because it takes time and requires a lot of concentration. It is highly recommended that a student should focus on verbal ability. Try to practice as much as you can for reading comprehension. This will also help you in attempting the questions which are based on the sentence completion and sentence arrangement.

All in all, if we conclude, we can see that if you practice more, then you can ace the CLAT 2023. Most importantly, be confident and focus your studies. And try to take rest in between, eat healthy, stay healthy, that is how you will be able to focus on your topics. Most importantly, these months are very crucial for the preparation, try to cover topics from the maximum number of good books and collect important points for the last minute.
