JEE ADVANCED is national level entrance examination conducted to facilitate admission to the distinguished INDIAN INSTITUTE of TECHNOLOGY (IIT) and a couple of other colleges. JEE ADVANCED is the second exam after JEE MAINS for students who are willing to seek admission to IITs. Around 14-15 lakhs students appear for JEE MAINS. Candidates who clear JEE MAIN and appear in the list of top 250000 will be eligible to appear for JEE ADVANCED will be selected for counselling and allotted seat in respective college. JEE ADVANCED is highly competitive and demands a smart preparation plan to crack the exam.
IIT Kharagpur will conduct JEE ADVANCED 2021, and the entrance exam is expected to take place in June. As the phase 4 JEE MAINS ends on May 28, 2021, the entrance exam for IITs is expected to be conducted in the second week of June. JEE ADVANCED is conducted every year by the seven zonal coordinating IITs under the main guidance of the joint admission board. JEE ADVANCED is conducted on a national level for aspirants seeking admission in engineering and architecture courses offered at ISM Dhanbad and IITs. JEE ADVANCED is an online exam taken after JEE MAINS by only those who qualify the JEE MAINS and feature in the list of top 2,50,000 candidates.
JEE ADVANCED 2021 application will get released in the first week of 2021 may. The examination is held per annum by IITs on a rotational basis. The admission will be offered to candidates in Bachelor’s integrated master’s or Bachelor’s master dual degree course.
JEE ADVANCED 2021 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidate must fulfil the following JEE ADVANCED eligibility criteria 2021-
- Performance in JEE MAIN 2021 candidates should have compulsorily passed JEE MAIN 2021. It is also necessary for them to be among the top 2,50,000 candidates. The categories will be divided as the following: GEN EWS- 10%
OBC-NCL- 27%
SC – 15%
ST – 7.5%
OPEN – 40.5%
PWD – 5%
2. AGE LIMIT – For JEE ADVANCED 2021, the candidate should have been born on or October 1,1996. SC, ST and PWD candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years.
3. NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS – candidates can attempt JEE ADVANCED maximum two times in two consecutive years.
4. Appearance in 12th exam – All candidates should have qualified the 10 + 2 exam in 2020 or 2021 for the first time. If the result is declared for the academic year 2018-19 after June 2019 then the candidates of the board who appeared for their 12th standard qualifying exam in 2019 will also be termed eligible for JEE ADVANCED 2021 if they also meet the other eligibility criteria.
5. Marks required in 12TH standard exam – For admission into It, the candidate should secure a minimum 75% aggregate marks in class 12th exam. For the SC/ST/PWD category the aggregate marks are minimum 65%. Candidates within the top 20 category percentile of the qualifying exam will also be eligible.
FEATURES OF JEE ADVANCED 2021
- The exam is divided into two papers: paper 1 and paper 2 of three hours duration each.
- Both paper 1 and 2 are compulsory for JEE ADVANCED.
- Paper 1 will carry a total of 48 questions.
- Paper 2 will carry 46 questions.
- Maximum marks for paper 1 is 168.
- Maximum marks for paper 2 is 174.
- Candidates must carry a blue and black ballpoint pen.
- There is negative marking for both paper 1 and 2.
- The questions come from the topic covered in class 11 and 12.

- Physics and chemistry section will contain 18 questions each – part one 4 questions, part two 8 questions and part three 6 questions
- Mathematics section will contain 12 questions, part one 4 and part two 8 questions.
