The syllabus for JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) is somewhat similar, so candidates can create combined strategies to prepare for the common topics. They need to qualify for JEE Main to get eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. To get admissions to Top Engineering Colleges, it is necessary to crack the Joint Entrance Examination.
Earlier, JEE (Main) was conducted twice a year, but from 2021 it will be conducted four times. The registrations for JEE(Main) are already open, but JEE (Advanced) registrations will start from May end.
JEE Advanced is the entry ticket for IITs, whereas JEE Main is for admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs available in the country.
Preparation Tips
The first step is to figure out the similarities in the syllabus of these two exams. B.E/B.Tech admissions, the exams are based on subjects like physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Candidates who are willing to appear for the Advanced Exam can prepare these common topics with tin depth study of additional subtopics. To prepare for the JEE Main, it is important to go through NCERT books thoroughly. Students can refer HC Verma for physics, OP Tandon for chemistry, and RD Sharma for Maths for more practice. This preparation will also help a lot to get good marks in JEE Advanced as well.
There is a change in the pattern for both exams in 2021. Both of them involve multiple-choice questions and numerical value type questions. Candidates should practice the maximum amount of mock tests and previous year's papers. Preparation of short notes for lengthy topics could be a great way for last-minute revisions.
