Singapore Student Visa for Indian Students

Private Education Organisation

Singapore universities offer various types of courses in IT, fine arts, finance, etc. For Indian Students, the course ranges from basic certificate courses to doctorate courses. Some specialized universities have different collaborations with universities in Australia, the UK, the US, etc.

UG Programs

To apply for a graduate degree in a private university, Indian students are required to submit their GMAT and GRE scores along with various other documents.
For a bachelor’s degree, the score of SAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and mark sheet of 10th, 12th standard or equivalent is required.

PG Programs

Postgraduate study in private universities includes three types of programs: doctoral programs, master’s programs, and graduate diplomas:

For the Doctoral Program: GRE/GMAT/TOEFL IELTS exam scorecard is required.
For Master’s Courses: along with TOEFL/IELTS bachelor’s degree is required to submit, and if applying for business-related courses GRE/GMAT scores are mandatory to submit.

Diploma in Government Polytechnic in Singapore

Students can apply for admission by submitting their 12th level mark sheet. Courses take around 2-3 years to complete a diploma course.

Visa for Indian Students

When you apply for any kind of course in your desired university, after getting their acceptance you must begin with your visa and permit-related procedures at least a month before the commencement of the program. The application is required to submit via Student-Pass Online Application and Registered System(SOLAR).

The first step is to get registration in IHL (Institute of Higher Learning) followed by the registration in the SOLAR system. This requires details like name, date of birth, gender, and nationality starting and ending date of courses. You will get a reference number in IHL, which is used as access to SOLAR.
Now using your login credentials login in SOLAR (given by IHL), fill in the details of the passport number, its expiration date, recent passport size photo, and email address.
After submission of Form 6 keep an extra copy with you for future reference and also submit a copy to the student pass unit Immigration and Checkpoint Authority(ICA) to complete formalities related to the student's pass.
Now complete the submission process by paying 30 SGD as fees.

Dependents: The spouse or the children of the graduate student will get a sponsorship for a social visit pass and stay in Singapore. They are also required to apply for an entry visa at the embassy. They will be given a 4-week social visit pass at the airport.

Working hours permit for students

You are eligible to work 16 hours a week (part-time). Full-time work is also allowed on holidays without a work permit.
After completion of the applied courses, if international students want to stay and search for a job opportunity, they are required to submit an application for a one-year visit pass to ICA.

Your bank statement shows you can afford your tuition fee and living expenses in Singapore
Bank loan sanction letter if applied for any loan
Transcript from your previous institution and related mark sheet and your English proficiency scorecard

Cost for the visa application and procedure

There will be a processing fee of around Rs.1637 approx. This fee is non-refundable. The payment will be accepted via debit/credit card only.
To collect the student pass, an insurance fee is needed (Rs.3275 approx).
