Copenhagen is a knowledge hub, with the independence of research at the highest level, providing a framework for critical thinking, insights with academic knowledge, and a practical approach. It is the 7th best university in the United Kingdom and has always been in the top 100 ranks in the world. The institution was founded in the year 1479, which makes it one of the oldest universities in the world.  It has 6 faculties and more than 36 departments and more than 200 research centres and has produced 9 Nobel laureates. It has four campuses in Copenhagen and one campus in Taastrup. eight museums and research gardens.


 A large number of administrative and technical functions are tied with the university for various tasks. The main focus of the university is to increase creativity with excellent research programs and produce best for the society. It has an international environment with a record of around 5000 international students out of 39000. 


Copenhagen city is the capital of Denmark and one of the safest cities with diverse cultures, making it more appropriate for student stay. The City is filled with businesses and a research environment with many research centres and innovation incubators. This region is growing rapidly in IT, business, and medical. The city focuses on reducing Carbon  and becoming more sustainable for future generations. The city has a diverse range of ages, cuisines, culture, infrastructure, urbanisation, etc. It is one of the top 5 peaceful cities in the world which makes it a less corrupt and safe place to stay.


Copenhagen University has definite departments for all the roles and functions to work smoothly. Different departments are allowed to play different roles like campus services, watch-over building construction, facility management, etc. The human resource department deals with staff management, staff development, etc. The Research And innovation department is responsible for knowledge, consultancy, guidance, commercialization, external funding, and entrepreneurship. The education and student department deals with student guidance, study statistics, and other skill development for students.

Apart from different faculties and departments, the institution has interdisciplinary projects and units, dedicated research for solving particular tasks. Many of these are funded or function in collaboration with other institutions, public authorities, companies, or foundations.


Bachelor's programs

Bachelor's programs are taught in the danish language only. Academic language skills in Danish is mandatory for the students planning to apply for the bachelor's programs.

There are two quotas available for the admission criteria.

Quota one

You are eligible to apply if you are from an EU education or internationally recognized system. Your upper secondary points with your grade points are considered for admission.

Quote two

You can apply for admission by appearing in qualifying the admission test when you don't have the required upper higher secondary education degree. Applicants who qualify for the admission test with the highest scores will be welcomed for the interview and other written tests.


Master's Program

Master's programs are taught in English and are available in 54 subjects/majors/departments. Some programs are also available in part-time and online modes. Students have to submit their previous degree and details of previous education with documents proof.


Ph.D. Program

Applicants need to register and apply on the official site with previous master’s degree details and purpose of their research, plans for their academics including supervisory capacity.


The acceptance rate is around 40-50 % at the University, which makes it one of the most competitive universities in the world in terms of admission.

 

Scholarships and loans

Here are brief details of the scholarships available for the students.

Scholarships and loans by the government: It is applicable for the students coming from specific regions as there may be changes to get funds from their home countries' loans.

Fulbright Scholarships: it requires an application letter and sign from the respective departments in the affiliation letter. It is applicable for the guest and exchange students.

Danish Government Scholarships: this is available for a limited number of students who are highly talented and have good academic records.

Scholarship, Worldwide institution: these types of scholarships are funded by external institutions.


Collaboration with other institutions

The University of Copenhagen has been cooperating with other institutions around the world since 2006, it has been in partnership with the top universities like Australian National University, Singapore National University, Peking Universities, Yale University, University of Tokyo, etc.
