The University of Manchester is one of the 3rd largest universities in the United Kingdom, a major centre for research and a member of the Russel group . It has national and international students from 160 countries. It has 25 noble literatus among its staff and students.  University is ranked 27th by the QS World Ranking. The most common disciple chosen by students is mathematics, science, engineering,  humanities, sociology and social sciences. Almost 79,000 students apply for admission via UCAS.  Other than research centers and laboratories it has cultural sites Including museums, libraries and a UNESCO World Heritage site. 

 

Scholarships for Undergraduate Courses

 

●        Global Futures Scholarship: offered to students of domicile of certain countries on a merit basis.

●        Humanitarian Scholarship: these scholarships benefit students every year and help them pay their tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and visa. The students must submit their background details and acceptance letters; even refugee students are eligible to apply for this kind of Scholarship. Your academic performance will be an assessment criterion for the Scholarship.

●        Subject Specific Awards: this kind of award is given to students of a particular domicile of engineering and science. 30 competitive awards worth 3000 Euros are given to best-performing students for the first three years and 1000 Euros for the 4th year. The student must be a domicile of South Asian Countries, Africa, etc., and the student must maintain an average of 60 throughout the course to be eligible for the Scholarship.

Postgraduate Scholarships

●        Carbon Reduction Scholarship: 30 students can benefit from this award, and 10 % of tuition fees are reduced. All the students who applied for MA in sustainable development via a distance learning program are eligible for the award.

●        Engineering The Future Scholarship: it applies to the students of the department of chemical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science engineering, etc. The students will be selected based on their academic performance and merit scores, and the short-listed candidate will be informed via email. A tuition fee of 28000 Euros waver, Four 1000 Euros tuition waiver, and ten 6000 Euros of tuition fees waiver are awarded to MSC Project Management students.

●        Equity and Merit Scholarship: are offered to students capable enough to maintain the sustainable development goals. Two types of scholarships are offered: (20) full-time on campus for a master's course of a duration of one year, and another 10 part-time for distance learning programs for a master's period of 3-5 years. Scholarships include tuition fees, return airfares, and accommodation and expenses.

●        Global Future Scholarships: this is also offered to both graduate and postgraduate students by the University of Manchester and is based on students' merit and academic profile. Students must be a domicile of the countries listed below: Bangladesh, Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, US, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.

●        GREAT Scholarships are funded by the University Of Manchester, the Great Britain Campaign, and the British Council. 1000 Euros toward a one-year master's program is offered to students from India and Nigeria (enrolled for 2022-2023). A total of five scholarships are included in this scheme. The international office sends the scholarship application form to all relevant offer-holders.

●        Humanitarian Scholarships: These scholarships come under the category of social cause for both postgraduate and graduate students, excluding the dentistry, medicine, nursing, and architectural courses. 10 postgraduate students get yearly benefits from this scholarship scheme, including tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and visa fees. The students who are forced to leave the conflicted area of their home country comes from a risk/victim of any kind of discrimination, studying in the UK for the first time, or New International student at the University for the academic year 2022-2023 are applicable to apply for the Scholarship.

●        Women in STEM Scholarships: this is a particular type of Scholarship available for female students from countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The Scholarship is supported by the British Council. There are a total of 5 scholarships in this category. This step is taken to motivate female researchers. Tuition fees are included in this category of scholarships with 1133 Euros of stipend per year.

●        Manchester Humanities International Excellence Scholarships: students of various postgraduate disciplines can benefit from this kind of University solely on the merit basis of tuition fees. The criteria - the students must be from the below-listed countries, hold an acceptance letter from the University and should be self-funded, and come under the requirements of specified academic entry. Students must be domiciles of Cyprus, Italy, Greece, Portugal, India, France, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, USA, Canada, and Nigeria.

 

Postgraduate Research Scholarships

●        Postgraduate Research Funding: Students can find individual funds to support their research work.

●        President's Doctoral Scholar Award: this is offered to 100 elite students and is a type of funding initiative supported by the President, vice president, chancellors, and professors of Rothwell. Doctoral or postgraduate research students can get funding with an additional 1000 Euros as their stipend.

●        Turing Scheme: research placements at international partner universities are offered to students to learn and earn. The duration of placement is 4 weeks to 4 months. Students can learn in a new environment and get exposure to further research and information for their desired discipline.

Students should wisely choose their courses with detailed fee structure and scholarship schemes. It is advised to verify and discuss all the details with Institute personnel and the latest update on the official website including all valid terms and conditions to avoid any future issues.
