Things To Do After Receipt Of Question Paper In CBSE Board Exam: The Extra 15 Minutes One Gets!

The Central Board of Secondary Education gives an additional time of 15 minutes to the students who opt for the Board exams. The students need to utilize these 15 minutes in the most effective way possible. The question papers are distributed 15 minutes before the answer sheets. Students need to create a strategy and divide the time intelligently. This will help them to finish the exam on time without any last moment rush. Below are the several tips that students should consider in the initial minutes of the exam to score maximum marks in the board exam.

1.     Prepare Yourself : Keep your mind calm. Don’t get anxious or too overconfident while looking at the question paper. Even if you are not 100 percent ready for the exam, prepare your mind to give the best chance.

2.     Cross checks the question paper: Sometimes, there are few printing mistakes or missing pages in the test paper. It is better to check the question paper properly in these 15 minutes to avoid the later panic. Students should inform the invigilator if there is any issue with the question paper.

3.    Analyse the question paper: The question paper will consist of various choices, so it is better to mark the questions in advance for which you are prepared to answer and avoid the ones you are doubtful about.

4.    Divide your time intelligently: Try your best to allocate the correct amount of time to separate sections.  This will help to avoid the last-minute hustle. It is more helpful to fix the approximate minutes in advance for each section and complete them according to the planned time.

5.   Do the rough work beforehand: If you have done all the above things and still you have time, then try to write down the necessary points for various questions. This will help you to save your time later by writing the explanation of those listed points later.

6.   Solve easy questions or prepare short answers in your mind: You can save a few minutes by solving the questions orally. Try to answer most of the less complex questions in your mind.

7.   Try to fill the one-word answer/ MCQs or True/ False on the question paper with a pencil:  If you are still left with some time, after completing the above-mentioned points, try to do as many one-word answers or multiple choice questions as possible. You can write down these short answers in the rough column of the question paper with a pencil. Erase it once you are done with the paper.

If you can follow a maximum of the above-mentioned tips, it will be quite easy for you to complete the paper within the given time limit. These tips will even improve your marks in the exam if you stick to them sincerely. All you need to do is prepare for the exam and utilize your time smartly. Planning a strategy that works best for you will be of great help.
