List of Nursing Entrance Exams in India
Entrance exams for Nursing Courses are very varied in India. There are direct admissions for admission to ANM and GNM courses in India. The direct admissions in some states are governed by one state body. In other states it is left to individual colleges or consortiums of private colleges.
However, in majority of states of India, admission to BSc, Post Basic BSc and MSc in nursing is regulated and controlled by a designated university of a state. Thus state level admission process is defined and an entrance exam as well as centralized counselling is done to allot seats to the meritorious students. These counselling processes are applicable to the private and government colleges. In some states, half the seats in private nursing colleges are called management seats and the admission to these seats is left to the individual colleges. However, these admissions too are based on the merit list of the state entrance exam.
Some top nursing colleges of the country organize All India Entrance Exams for admission to various nursing courses taught in these colleges. Thus PGI, AIIMS and a few more organize these all India entrance exams.
A few top private colleges or universities organize their own entrance exams for some of the nursing courses taught and not covered by the state level exam.

This list is not exhaustive, but give the students a fair idea of some important nursing exams. This list is mainly for top nursing entrance exams for BSc, BSc (Post-Basic) Nursing and MSc held at national, state or college level exams in India along with their important dates.
