It will be the first time that CBSE provides this opportunity in Class 10th boards so that students can select the Basic mathematics option instead of the conventional standard mathematics exam. This subject will have a separate question paper as well as a different examination code which will also be mentioned in the student’s certificate.
The students who want to select basic mathematics ought to select the course at the time of filling the LOC which is due by the 30th of September 2019. This option is very valuable for the students who found mathematics to be a big issue and don’t want to continue the subject in high school. However on selecting the basic mathematics examination the student will not be eligible to study mathematics in 11th and 12th class. Students appearing for basic mathematics will have the option to appear in standard mathematics in the compartment examination.
It should also be noted that there will be no restriction of studying other subjects like Physics Chemistry Biology computer Science or IP in classes 11th and 12th allowing them to appear in examinations for medical colleges like NEET.
