CBSE announces Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the “Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge” for students of class 8th to 10th, this challenge will focus on the extent to which students can apply the basics of mathematics to the daily life circumstances. The first stage of the challenge began on November 18 and it will continue till November 22, 2019, there are moreover 5,475 Schools affiliated under CBSE that are participating in the Aryabhatta Ganit challenge and about 7,71,214 students have registered for this mathematics competency assessment challenge.
 
The “Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge” is aimed at promoting joyful learning amongst the children who find no interest in this subject, and to develop the skills for facing the mathematical competences of the modern era. It promotes character building of the students and a higher intellect level as a proficient understanding of mathematics promotes orienting towards learning quick techniques for efficient problem-solving mindset. Students will get to know how easily they can apply mathematics in their daily life.

The final stage of the Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge will be held on November 29, 2019 and it will be a computer-based assessment, in which the top three students of each registered school will take part. This challenge will also provide feedback from schools to CBSE about the level of education and overall development and performance of students in the field of education, that will help CBSE handhold the children and schools in learning the applications of mathematics in daily life circumstances.

This Challenge includes the Joy of Mathematics Learning, Mathematical Ability and Application of Mathematics in daily life assessment of 20 marks each, which is an MCQ based online test, without any negative marking and it is for 1-hour duration. Therefore, there is an equal opportunity for every student to showcase their talent and abilities on a national stage. The online links will be provided soon to the schools for registering the students in this challenge by paying 900 Rs registration fees for the top three students selected in stage 1. After stage 2, the top 100 students from each CBSE region will be provided a Merit Certificate.
