Major Changes In The CBSE 2020 Question Paper and Marking Pattern For 12th Standard

Students who will be appearing for their 12th standard CBSE examinations in 2020 are to face some major changes in terms of the question paper pattern, the type of questions served and also the final marking pattern. The changes that are being brought in the paper and the marking style are to improve the standard of education and also to provide a better scope for the students to score better.

New Pattern – The CBSE Board for its class 12 question paper has increased the number of multiple-choice questions and short questions. The total paper will consist of 100 marks where the questions will be divided into two sections of the theoretical paper and the project work or the practical paper.

Marking Style – Marks' distribution and pattern will be different for the three streams of science, commerce, and arts. The papers will be of three hours, where the theory part questions will have a total of seventy to eighty marks and the short or the MCQs will have twenty to thirty marks. The same pattern will be applicable for science, commerce, and even the arts stream papers. With the exception of the English language, all the other subjects will have marks divided into this pattern.

A proper understanding of the marking pattern will help you to understand the strategy that you will take in your preparations and in your attempt to solve the question paper. It can help you to put up a better performance in your end results.
