Universities in China to hold online classes about Coronavirus

UNIVERSITIES IN CHINA TO HOST ONLINE CLASSES

In China, there are around 23000 Indian students studying nearly five lakh, international students. Due to the outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan, many students were asked not to return to the campuses until further notices. These are the students who went to their home countries in January during the winter break.

Many of the universities planned to reschedule the Spring semester and suggested to the students to stay home until further notice. The schedule of the spring term has not been announced yet by the universities. An official announcement at Tsinghua University, Beijing says that the students who are living in the dormitory shall protect themselves and wear masks all the time. It was also suggested by them that one should wash their hands frequently, avoid crowded places and monitor their body temperature. If any of the students feels like a feverish, cough or other symptoms of acute respiratory tract infection, they should seek medical advice immediately.

According to Divyakshi Kukshal, an MBA student at Peking University says that “China is taking all measures to contain the outbreak and has issued many advisories to help the foreign students.”

Many of the universities will host online classes for the students to make sure that the academic activities should get completed by that time.

Abid Ahmad, the Indian researcher at Tsinghua University says that the staff is ready to help students staying in dormitories, he added that “the scare is less in Peking, but the authorities are extra cautious.”
