The educational officials of Uttar Pradesh have launched a new Higher Education Digital Library for allowing students to get access to the best educational content online for free. Students who have enrolled in any higher education institution in the nation will have access to the best audio and video lectures by expert professors in the fields. This digital library will be just a click away and will provide students access to a collection of lectures from 1,700 teachers from various state universities. The current array of subjects includes 134 different fields for students to explore.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dinesh Sharma stated that the e-library is a one-of-a-kind initiative in the country and it will remove the limitation of distance for students who can go beyond the boundary of their campus to explore new fields. It will also help students who are unable to afford expensive journals and books for their education. The content will be available in both English and Hindi, and will be prepared by some of the best teachers of state universities.
Moreover, the Chief Secretary of Higher Education, Monika Garg stated that the library is a boon for the students who are stuck without resources due to the pandemic. She also stated that the project has been in development since the September of 2019, and is therefore carefully constructed.
