Candidates applying from the universities that are not providing Honours degree should clearly mention "Honours degree not provided" in their applications. Those who have appeared in the final examination may also apply but their final selection will be subject to securing the required percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. The Candidate with Chemistry (Hons.) should provide only Honours marks, whereas the candidates from those universities that do not offer Honours degree, the marks should be provided as the overall percentage for Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. Eligible applicants will be required to appear for a written screening test in chemistry. 2. School of Physical Sciences: A general candidate seeking admission to this course should have a minimum first division in both class X & class XII level examinations and should satisfy one of the following criteria. i) A minimum first class (60% marks in aggregate in Physics Honours papers or equivalent) in B.Sc. (Physics Honours) with Mathematics and Chemistry/Statistics/Others as subsidiaries ii) A first class (60% marks or equivalent in aggregate) in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Statistics/Others for universities that do not offer Honours degree at the B.Sc. level. Candidates belonging to the reserved category should have a minimum of 55% marks in both class X and class XII level examination and a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate in Physics Honours papers or equivalent in B.Sc. (Physics-Honours) with Mathematics and Chemistry/Statistics/Others as subsidiaries or 55% marks or equivalent in aggregate in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Statistics/ Others for Universities that do not offer Honours degree at the B.Sc. level. Reservation of seats will be as per the Central Educational Institutions (Reservation In Admission) Act, 2006. Candidates meeting the above criteria will be screened through a written test and selected on the basis of a final interview.
