5 Biggest Reforms in Educational Policy

The new educational policy 2020, launched by the Government of India, makes the former policy undergo huge changes and amendments comparatively. In actuality, the National Education Policy got reconstructed after an interval of 34 years, which was much needed to bring in new reforms. It was very essential and urgent to create a diverse and advanced educational system. After all, the world and India’s needs were much more different in the 1980s as of now.

The 5 biggest important, fresh changes which will prove beneficial for students in the future are briefly mentioned below.

Change in Name of Ministry

Ministry of Human Resource will henceforth be referred to as the Ministry Of Education. It’s still bewildering that it took 34 years to reach this decision. Earlier, Indian kids were signified as entities, items that were withheld as per convenience. This certain step implies that education will be taken seriously as a lifestyle, which is indeed an idea in reforms.

Introduction of Coding since 6th grade

6th grade students will now be introduced to coding in school. This is a rather important resolution initiated by the Government of India. It is considered that coding and programming could help in the long run by increasing and stabilizing problem-solving and result in oriented mentalities of individuals.

Coding will have a mainstream approach as much as Mathematics and English. The IT world and its exciting concepts will seep deeper into rural and urban areas equally.

Flexibility of Choices

The new Education Policy promises that students don’t have to be segregated into different streams. There will not be any restrictions on choosing a subject a student desires to study anymore. The outdated ideas, like, Arts students can’t choose Mathematics or Engineering students taking Humanities subjects is time wasted, will soon fade into the air. The credits or the marks will be transferred based on new standards and benchmarks.

It is now possible for a student to leave after a year or two or three or till their graduation. They will be provided with a diploma degree for every year completed in the course field. This enables the keys to more freedom and better choices.

Experience of Real World

Students can learn skills, trades, business verticals by actually working in those fields since Class 6. For example, a student can work and learn under and from professionals of a field, such as artists or entrepreneurs or perhaps an astronaut, much like an apprenticeship. The young mass will gain access and an idea of what the real world works like and will face practical experiences.

Sports Equivalent to Mainstream

A sport, any category will carry the same credibility and weightage, as same as existing mainstream subjects like English or Mathematics or Geography. It will definitely open up new ideals and portals for students who have fixed their dreams ultimately in the sports fields. Supposedly, what can be better than receiving marks based on pure talents?
