Jamia Millia Islamia is one of the renowned universities in India that is trying to provide students from every class the best quality of education. This heritage university offers various PG courses to students that are – M.Sc., MCA, LL.M, MBA, MTech, MFA, MPT, M.Ed., and M.Arch. The university conducts entrance exams for the admission process. This year too the entrance examinations will be held soon. All the details for the entrance examination for biotechnology will be provided in this article.
JMI eligibility criteria for M.Sc. in Biotechnology:
· Candidates must pass their bachelor’s degree in biotechnology.
· They must pass their B.A degree from an acknowledged university.
· Candidates have to score a minimum of 60% or 6 CGPA in their bachelor’s degree to apply for the M.A program.
JMI entrance exam details for M.Sc. in Biotechnology:
Candidates willing to take admission in the master’s course in Biotechnology can apply online in the official portal of JMI. The admission fees are Rs.700/-. The last date for applying online is 14th September now. If there are any changes made please follow the official website.
JMI admission details for M.Sc.:
Jamia Milia conducts entrance exams for the offered course of M.Sc. However, there might be or might not be an interview after the entrance exam. Though most of the entrance exams are conducted only on the campus of JMI, some courses are also conducted outside of the campus in different cities. And luckily entrance exams for M.Sc. in biotechnology are also conducted in different cities as well as the campus.
The cities where this exam is conducted are – Kolkata, Patna, Delhi, Calicut, Guwahati, Lucknow, Srinagar. But if there is an interview, that will only be held on the JMI campus in Delhi.
JMI M.Sc. 2021 admission process:
The applicants must register themselves for applying in the entrance examination. Candidates have to visit the official portal JMI and fill the form online. The detailed procedure of how to apply and further things are given below:
Step -1:
At first, the candidates need to register online to apply for M.Sc. Candidates need to provide their basic details like – name, date of birth, email id, the phone number to register for the entrance exam. After successfully registering on the official website, candidates will be sent a confirmation email to the given email id. This email will contain some important details like – a unique code to verify the email id, also the login id, and the password.
Step – 2:
After the registration part is done, candidates can proceed to fill up the application form for the exam. Candidates need to put the correct login id and password. Then they will find the application form there. All the details of a candidate must be filled in the form rightly without any mistake.
Also, candidates have to upload a scanned copy of passport size color photograph of themselves in the portal. Along with-it candidates have to upload a scanned copy of their signature done in black ink only.
Step – 3:
When all the details are given correctly, candidates have to submit the application form online. Candidates must choose the city of preference wisely for the entrance exam.
After that, the option of paying the application fees will be offered to the candidates. The application fee for the exam is Rs.700/-. The application fees can be paid through credit card, debit card, or via net banking in an online method.
If any candidate wishes to submit the fees offline, they can do that as well. The candidates have to download the challan from the website and submit it along with the cash to the State Bank of India branch. Once candidates successfully pay the application fees, the whole process will be completed.
JMI admit card for entrance exam 2021:
After the completion of the whole application process, candidates will find their admit card uploaded on the official website of JMI. Aspirants need to download the admit card and get a print out of it. They have to attach a recent self-attested colored photo of themselves in the given box on the admit card.
Candidates must carry the admit card for the examination. Also, the documents that are mentioned in the admit card must be carried by the candidate.
JMI entrance exam and pattern in 2021:
· 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
· Candidates need to score at least 40% in the exam.
· Candidates who will be unable to score at least 30% in the descriptive portion of the exam, unfortunately, will not be allowed for the interview round.
· If there is any tie-breaker situation the older candidate will get the first preference.
· In the interview round, the candidate having a higher mark in the writing portion gets a higher rank.
JMI M.Sc. 2021 guidelines:
Ø Candidates will be selected only based on their rank or obtained score in the entrance exam.
Ø All candidates need to score a minimum of 40% marks to be eligible for the selection procedure.
Ø The candidates will get the seat reservation details on the official website.
Ø The list of selected students will be released in the official portal of JMI.
Ø Candidates getting selected need to bring their admit cards along with some documents.
The required documents that need to be carried with the selected candidate are –
1. Proof of passing the exam
2. Self-attested mark sheets of exams
3. Marksheet of 10+2 mark sheet or the equivalent examination’s mark sheet
4. Age proof of the candidate
5. Reservation certificate if applicable.
6. Character certificate provided from the previous institute.
7. Doctor certificate for blood group
8. Address proof along with the nearest police station’s phone number and name
