KCET, it's Good Score and Rank

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) is conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) for admission in undergraduate courses in engineering (BE, B.tech), agriculture, pharmacy (B.pharm), B.Sc, etc every year. Karnataka Examinations Authority(KEA) is a Governing Council headed by the  Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Karnataka. The main motto of the examination cell is to establish criteria for selecting student admissions for the different streams ( in 1st year or 1sr semester full-time undergraduate course) based on the basis of their merit performance in the Common entrance test.

EXAM PATTERN (State level)

•Exam mode: pen and paper test

•Medium: English/ Kannada

•Sessions: three (session-1: Mathematics/ Biology, Session-2 : physics, sessions :3)

•Duration:  80 minutes for each session

•Question type: MCQs (multiple questions type questions)

•Number of questions (for all sessions): 180 questions (PCM) or 240 (PCB), (60- mathematics/ Biology, 60- physics, 60- chemistry)

•Marking scheme: 1 mark for every correct answer, there will be no negative marking for the incorrect options chosen.

Candidates should carefully fill their KCET OMR sheets, Try to use a blue or black ball pen only as OMR sheets are scanned. More than 2 lacs students appear in this entrance exam, competition is quite high.

Syllabus (PUC – 1 and 2)
