Punjab B.Sc Nursing Admissions: PPMET - Para Medical Entrance Test for Nursing

Punjab has many nursing courses on offer for students after class 12. GNM admissions are done directly based on the class 12 marks. There is no entrance exam for the GNM admissions. Same is true for ANM admissions.

BSc and Post Basic B.Sc nursing courses admissions are with an entrance exam. PPBNET is the exam for entrance to post basic BSc nursing in Punjab. Similarly PPMET is the entrance exam for admission to B.Sc nursing course in Punjab.

Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test or PPMET is an all-state exam and  is conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. (PPMET) 2021 for admission into B.Sc Nursing 4 year course for the academic year 2021. The selection of the candidates to any institution are made on merit based on the entrance exam.

Eligibility criteria for Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET) 

  • Must have passed in the subjects of PCB and English individually in 10+2
  • Must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks for general category
  • For SC/ST minimum marks are 40%
  • Qualifying examination is 10+2 or equivalent
  • Must have completed the age of 17 years on or before December 31 of the admission year.
  • Maths, if additional subjects, its marks will not be considered for admission to B Sc. Nursing Course.

One must have a valid email id

Scanned copies of photograph and signature are required for uploading.

PPMET Admit Card

Admit card is made available on the official site and needs to be downloaded.

Candidate needs a certificate duly signed and attested from either Principal of last attended School or by an Executive Magistrate. 

Students need to follow the instructions given therein. 

Admit cards will not be sent by post. 

In case admit card cannot be downloaded, then the candidate has to contact the University personally prior to three days of the PPMET carrying a copy of Bank Challan Form.

PPMET Exam Pattern

Exam Mode:   Online 
Subjects:  Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology)
Language:  English
Exam Type: MCQs
Duration:  180 Minutes i.e. 3 hours
Number of Questions:   200
Total Marks:  800 
Negative Marking:  No, if one marks the fifth Oval. If all ovals are left blank, one question will be deducted. 

PPMET Result

One is able to access or download the result card from the official website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in. It will be in the order of Ranks.

PPMET Counselling Steps

  1. There is a physical counselling after the result is declared.
  2. Usually there are two rounds of counselling.
  3. The schedule and the venue details will be published on the official website.
  4. Original certificates/documents for verification will be required.
  5. A copy of the online submitted admission application form along with self attested photocopies of all original documents will also be required.
  6. Fess will have to be deposited by the selected candidates on spot as a Demand Draft favouring Registrar, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences payable at Faridkot.

Once all is done, candidates will be given instructions to report to the designated college for admission process.


Note: Usually some seats are left vacant after counselling. Then online applications are invited through official website for admission to vacant BSc Nursing seats from candidates who have not appeared in PPMET or unqualified candidates based on 10+2 exam marks. Dates are notified on the official website. Thus there are chances that students who have not qualified or not taken the test may get a seat depending upon vacancy.
