JNUSU, The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union has sent a request to the authorities to extend the JNUEE 2020 registration deadline viewing the current restrictions due to the coronavirus lockdown. The lockdown has affected the movent of the public therefore, the candidates who do not have internet connection could not apply for the JNUEE 2020 or Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination.
The JNUSU’s letter addressed the Vice-Chancellor which says, “there has been a complete shutdown of the movement of public life on the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and a looming public health crisis not only in our country but across the globe. There has been a lockdown announced for the next 21 days according to the Government of India directives. The restrictions on movement have affected the aspirants applying for JNUEE 2020 and to fill up the application form.”
The letter states that a lot of the aspirants use external help or cyber cafes who does not have access to personal internet to access the portal for applying JNUEE 2020. This creates additional difficulties for states like J&K having extremely limited internet access and the offline mode is no longer in prevalence. The letter requested that the date of the application and the registration which was about to end on 31st March 2020, should be extended to allow the students to have sufficient time to apply.
The JNUEE is conducted by the National Testing Agency NTA on behalf of the Delhi-based central university. JNUEE is conducted to offer admission to the aspirants in postgraduate and undergraduate programs that have been offered by the university. The application forms for JNUEE 2020 was released on March 2, 2020. The last was March 31 and the admit card is about to release on April 21, 2020. As of now, no new dates have been notified. So, accordingly, the entrance exams will be held on May 11, 2020, to May 14, 2020, for 3 hours.
The students who want to appear for JNU entrance exams can fill the application form and can opt to appear in the JNU entrance examination for a maximum of three courses. JNUEE offers courses like MA, BA (Hons), MCA, MSc, Mass Media, MTech, MPhil, and International Studies. JNU CEEB is conducted for admission into Biotechnology.
The candidates can apply on the portal https://www.jnu.ac.in/ node who wants to appear for the JNUEE.
