The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, the CAT test conducting body for 2020 released the official scorecard on 2nd January 2021, Saturday. Over 2 lakh students sat for the exam this year. One can download the score by going to CAT 2020 official website i.e. https://iimcat.ac.in , login with your credentials and download your scores.
CAT 2020 was conducted in three slots this year. The overall duration of the exam was reduced to two hours and the questions were reduced to 75 questions. The exam is a higher order aptitude test to get admitted into the MBA programs of IIMs and other prestigious Business schools.
Taking the CAT exam is just the first step, the race to the B-School is not yet over. After the body releases the results schools declare their cutoffs and invite students who match the criteria for the next round which is the GDPI and WAT stage. Every school has a different set process to select a candidate but usually schools first take up a written ability test and conduct a group decision. They shortlist some students out of a lot who then have to face the admissions committee panel in a personal interview.
As the pandemic continues it is expected that these activities will be taken up virtually. The mode might change but the overall pattern and criteria for final selection is likely to remain the same.
The CAT 2021 exam will be conducted in Nov 2021 and its notification is expected in Jul 2021.
