CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Declared: Pass Percentage Drops to 85.20%, Girls Outperform Boys

CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 Released Today

The wait for students awaiting the CBSE Class 12 results is finally over. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CBSE Class 12 Results 2026 today, 13th May. Students can check their results directly on the website, DigiLocker, Umang, via SMS, and by phone.     

CBSE 12th Result 2026 Pass Percentage Declines

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 result this time recorded 85.20 per cent, which is lower than last year's (88.39 per cent). A total of 1,507,109 students passed in the 12th grade. This figure is 3.19 per cent lower than last year. Last year, 1,496,307 students passed.

Girls Perform Better Than Boys in CBSE 12th 2026

This year, girls have once again outperformed boys. A total of 88.86 per cent of female students passed, compared to 82.13 per cent of their male counterparts. This gives the female students a lead of 6.73 per cent.Officials said that this year, over 1.7 million students registered for the examination, of whom more than 1.5 million passed. For the first time, the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system was mandatorily adopted for the evaluation process.

Ways to Check CBSE Class 12 Result 2026

After the CBSE Board 12th results are released, students can check their results through both online and offline methods. The results can be checked in 6 ways, which are as follows:

  • Website: cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in
  • Digilocker website digilocker.gov.in and app
  • Umang app and website
  • SMS
  • Via IVRS: Number 24300699 for students in Delhi and 011-24300699 for students outside Delhi
  • Via SMS Organiser App: Type cbse12  in the message box. (School Code) (Centre Code)" to 7738299899.

Minimum Passing Marks & Compartment Exam Details

A minimum of 33 per cent marks is mandatory to pass in all subjects.A minimum total of 33 per cent marks in all subjects is mandatory to pass the CBSE board examination. This mark must be achieved separately in the practical and theory components. However, if a student fails one or two subjects in the board exams, they can take the compartment exam to pass in the same year and avoid repeating a year. Applications for the compartment exam will be accepted after the results are released. The exams will be held in June.
