Panjab University to Seek Dental Council of India Nod for BDS and MDS Exams

Panjab University has decided to get permission from the DCI for conducting the BDS and MDS examinations at the Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital. The decision will affect intermediate and final year students.

A virtual meeting conducted by the Syndicate members on the 17th of August was used to discuss the matter. The chairman of the meeting was the Syndicate member Navdeep Goyal.

During the meeting, the members had given the institution a nod on the conduction of the examination. They sent representation to the DCI to conduct the examinations of the BDS and MDS students in the institute. They have made references to other states with online examination modes.

Around 517 students will appear for the examinations as per the suggestions. Since the MDS batch only has 17 students, the physical examination might be possible for them.

Referring to the importance of holding online examinations for the BDS students, the members claimed that the university may not be able to arrange for an offline exam since many students are also outstationed. Therefore, an online exam seems much more likely for the 500 students enrolled in the BDS course.
