Students will be allowed to pursue two full-time degree programs of the same level simultaneously from the same university or from different institutions. This information was shared on Tuesday by University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M Jagadesh Kumar. The commission will be issuing detailed guidelines about this soon and students will be able to avail this option from the current academic session i.e. 2022-23. Two degree programs will be allowed simultaneously through the physical mode.
M Jagadesh Kumar said in a press conference, "As announced in the new National Education Policy (NEP) and to allow students to acquire multiple skills, the UGC is coming up with new guidelines in which a candidate can be taught through physical mode simultaneously. Students will be allowed to take admission in two degree programmes simultaneously. The degree program can be done from the same university or from a different university"
