UGC Urges Indian Universities to Submit Data for QS World University Rankings 2027

Deadline for Data Submission Set as April 12, 2026

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all higher education institutions in India to submit their data for the QS World University Rankings 2027. The data submission window is open now, and the last date is April 12, 2026.UGC has told institutions to give complete and correct information. This also includes sustainability data, so Indian institutions can be represented properly in global rankings.
 
The commission has also said that the deadline should be followed strictly because this data helps decide an institution’s position in international rankings.

Indian Institutions Show Strong Results in QS Rankings 2026

Indian institutions have also performed well in the QS Asia and subject rankings 2026. IIT Delhi was the top Indian institute in Engineering and Technology, ranking 36th. IIT Bombay ranked 42nd, IIT Madras 62nd, IIT Kharagpur 64th, and IIT Kanpur 84th.
 
In Arts and Humanities, the University of Delhi ranked 231st, JNU 260th, and O.P. Jindal Global University 323rd.
 
In Life Science and Medicine, AIIMS ranked 217th. In Natural Sciences, IIT Bombay ranked 78th, IIT Delhi 91st, and IISc ranked 125th.
 
In Social Science and Management, IIM Ahmedabad ranked 66th. IIT Delhi ranked 84th, IIT Bombay 105th, the University of Delhi 177th, and IIM Calcutta 178th.
 
UGC has requested all institutions to submit their data on time and help strengthen India’s presence in global academic rankings.
