The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the revised date sheet for the civil service examination and interviews. As per the new schedule, the UPSC Civil Services Prelims exams will now be conducted on October 4. Meanwhile, the Civil Services Mains examination will be held on January 8, 2021. The Indian Forest Services Prelims will be held along with the UPSC Civil Services examinations and the Mains will be held on February 28, 2021.
The civil services examination consists of three stages which are- Prelims, Mains, and interview. The exam is held to select the officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), among others. At least 796 vacancies were announced by the commission to be filled through the civil services examination 2020.
The examination was scheduled to be held on May 31, but due to nationwide lockdown it has been postponed. There will be only one entrance exam for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy this year. "A common examination for both NDA& NA Exam (I) and NDA & NA Exam (II) 2020 will be held on 06.09.2020," the UPSC has notified. The examination will be held on September 6.
The UPSC board will be releasing another notification regarding the NDA and NA examinations on June 10. Although the application portal will be activated till June 30. The Indian Economic Service Exam and Statistical Service Exam will be conducted on October 16. The notification for IES and ISS examination 2020 next week by the UPSC. The Combined Medical Services Examination will be held on October 22 and the Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination is scheduled on December 20.
The UPSC Personality Tests for Civil Services (Mains) Examination, 2019 for remaining candidates will be resumed from July 20.
