13,343 Candidates Qualified for UPSC Mains

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will commence the Civil Services Main Examination at designated centres across the country from 21 August. The 13,343 candidates who have qualified for the mains exam are now awaiting the release of their admit cards, which is expected to happen shortly. Looking at last year's pattern, admit cards were issued a week before the exam. Therefore, it is expected that this year, the admit cards will be made available for download on 12th August.

How to Download UPSC Mains Admit Card 2026

All candidates who have qualified for the main examination will need to download their admit cards online from the official website. No candidate will be sent their hall ticket by post or any other means. The steps to download the admit card are as follows-

To download the UPSC Main Examination Admit Card, you must first visit the official website, upsc.gov.in.
On the website's homepage, you must click on the ‘Civil Services Mains Admit Card 2026’ link.
After this, candidates must enter their registration number/roll number and date of birth, and then submit.
The admit card will now open on the screen, from where you can download and take a printout.

UPSC CSE Mains 2026 Exam Schedule

The CSE Main Examination will be conducted by the UPSC on 21, 22, 23, 29 and 30 August 2026. The schedule by subject is as follows:

21 August 2026: Paper 1 (Essay) (Morning shift only)
22 August 2026: First shift - Paper 2 (General Studies-I), Second shift - Paper 3 (General Studies-II)
23 August 2026: First shift - Paper 4 (General Studies-III), Second shift - Paper 5 (General Studies-IV)
29 August 2026: Paper A Indian Language (Assamese/ Bengali/ Bodo/ Dogri/ Gujarati/ Hindi/ Kannada/ Kashmiri/ Konkani/ Maithili/ Malayalam/ Manipuri/ Marathi/ Nepali/ Odia/ Punjabi/ Sanskrit/ Santali (Devanagari/ Ol Chiki script) / Sindhi (Devanagari/ Arabic script)/ Tamil/ Telugu/ Urdu) (Morning shift only)
30 August 2026: First shift - Paper VI, Optional Subject - Paper-1
30 August 2026: Second shift - Paper VII, Optional Subject - Paper-2
