Andhra Pradesh Law Common Entrance Test 2020 or AP LAWCET 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to LL.B. and LL.B. (Integrated). AP LAWCET 2020 is conducted by Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapuramu.

AP LAWCET for the year 2020 has been announced by Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapuramu and will be held on 01/10/2020. The application forms will be available from 11/03/2020 till 07/07/2020. The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. It is being conducted in English and Telugu languages. Admit card will be available from 24/09/2020. The result date will be announced later.

AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Three year LL.B. Course

  • The minimum Academic Qualification required are passed graduation with at least 45% marks in aggregate from a recognized university or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the  Universities concerned. If any candidate secured less than 45% in graduation he should  have passed any additional graduate or postgraduate degree with 45% aggregate marks.

Five year LL.B. Course

  • The minimum Academic Qualification required are passed 12th with at least 45% marks in aggregate or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board  of Intermediate Education, A.P.

Note :

There is a relaxation of 5% of marks in the above qualifying examinations for admission in favour of the candidates belonging to SC / ST and relaxation of 3% of marks for candidates belonging to other backward classes.

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    Students applying for the AP LAWCET 2020 have to fill up the application form on the official site.

    Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of AP LAWCET 2020

    • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity
    • Qualification details
    • Scanned copy of passport photograph in JPG or JPEG format (less than 50Kb) Scanned copy of signature in JPG or JPEG format (less than 30Kb) . 
    • Functional e - mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
    • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone number can be used.
    • For online payments, usually a valid Credit Card / Debit  card and Net banking Service is a must. 
    • Printer is required for keeping hard copies; if there is no printer, one can save the printouts, transfer them on to a pen drive and get it printed from a cyber-cafe.
    • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill up the form.

    AP LAWCET 2020 Syllabus

    Syllabus for AP LAWCET 2020 Exam

    The Questions for the test shall be based from a Common Syllabus as notified in the Prospectus or Information Brochure of AP LAWCET 2020 exam as set by the Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthapuramu on the behalf of APSCHE. One is required to study according to the given Syllabus.

    The Test is designed to evaluate the candidate’s General Knowledge, Mental ability, current affairs and aptitude to pursue the study of Law. The Test consists of three parts. 

    • Part - A : General Knowledge and Mental Ability (Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks)
    • Part - B : Current Affairs (Consists of 30 questions carrying 30 marks)
    • Part - C : Aptitude for the Study of Law (Consists of 60 questions carrying 60 marks)

    In the questions in Part - C, Aptitude for the study of Law, elementary knowledge of the basic principles of the Law and Constitution of India on the part of the Student is assumed.

    For LL.B. (Integrated), the standard expected is of Intermediate level and for 3 year Law program, the standard expected is of Degree Level.

    Examination Day Instructions

    Preparation for the Exam Day

    • The Admit card should be downloaded and printed immediately.
    • A few copies of the Admit Card should be kept in reserve as these are also used at the time of admission and counselling.
    • Photo to be fixed on the admit card, if required
    • Documents to be taken to the Exam centre should be kept ready.
    • Copy of the photo may be required to be taken to the Test Centre.
    • Stationary related articles as mentioned should be kept ready.
    • Dress related details will also be provided in the prospectus as well as with the admit card and should be followed.
    • Items not to be taken to the Exam centre or barred should be noted.

    Before entering the Exam Centre

    • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam. 
    • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
    • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
    • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
    • Usually no bags are allowed.
    • No eatables are allowed.
    • No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager / wireless set, scanner, camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.

    After entering the centre

    • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat. 
    • After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat.
    • For Objective Type question papers, rough work is to be done in the space provided for this purpose. No rough work is allowed on the OMR Answer Sheet under any situation.
    • Questions have to be answered on the answer sheet only.
    • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited.
    • Smoking is not allowed.
    • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to the expulsion of the candidate.
    • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.
    • Marking the answer sheet or question paper in any way will also lead to cancellation of the exam for that candidate.

    Qualifying marks in AP LAWCET 2020 :

    • The qualifying percentage of marks in the AP LAWCET 2020 is 35%. There will be no minimum qualifying marks for SCs and STs for ranking.
