Allahabad University Law Admission Test 2020 or AU LAT 2020 is the entrance examination for admission to LL.B.. AU LAT 2020 is conducted by University of Allahabad.

AU LAT for the year 2020 has been announced by University of Allahabad and will be held on 28/09/2020. The application forms will be available from 10/05/2020 till 05/09/2020. The exam is in written mode. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. It is being conducted in English language. Admit card will be available from 18/09/2020. Result is expected to be announced on 09/11/2020.

AU LAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The minimum Academic Qualifications required for AU LAT 2020 required are passed Graduation in any discipline from a University.

An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School course (' +2') or equivalent (such as 11+1, 'A' level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent. constituted or recognized by the Union or by a State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the program of the Centre of Legal Education to obtain the integrated degree in law with a degree in any other subject as the first degree from the University whose such a degree in law is recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose or enrolment. 

Provided that applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission in the Integrated Five Years course or three years' LL.B. Course, as the case may be. Explanation: The applicant who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/ post graduation through open universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission in the law courses.

    • There is no provision of revaluation / scrutiny.
    • In case if the number of registered candidates at any of the examination centers is less than 100, then in such case the registered candidates will be allotted the nearest centre.

    Application Form Filling Instructions

    Students applying for the AU LAT 2020 have to fill up the application form on the official site. A student can submit the application for only once; multiple forms will be rejected. 

    Requirements to be readied before you start filling up the Application Form of AU LAT 2020:

    • PC or a Laptop with Internet connectivity 
    • Qualification details
    • Scanned copy of passport photograph in JPG or JPEG format and Scanned copy of signature in JPG or JPEG format, if required.
    • Functional e-mail Id as all communication are made through email; Parents email id is recommended.
    • Mobile number as all information is sent through SMS too. Parents phone number can be used.
    • For online payments, usually a valid debit or credit card as well as Net B facility Service is a must.
    • Printer is required for keeping hard copies; if there is no printer, one can save the printouts, transfer them on to a pen drive and get it printed from a cyber-café.
    • It is recommended to download the information Bulletin Brochure and read it carefully so that you understand various requirements to fill up the form.

    The Usual Steps in filling up the Online Application Form of the AU LAT 2020: 

    • Step-1: Students have register for Online Application Form. A login and Password are created. 
    • Step-2: Student has to Complete the Application Form and its various sections 
    • Step-3: Required documents in the form of Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph, Candidate’s Signature, if required.
    • Step-4: Payments have to be made by Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking.

    The applicant must take due care while filling up the form (online). The information provided by the applicant in his/her form shall not be changed or altered in any case and the University will not entertain such requests under any circumstance.     Syllabus for AU LAT 2020 Exam

    The Questions for the test shall be based from a Common Syllabus as notified in the Prospectus or Information Brochure of AU LAT 2020 exam as set by the Allahabad University. One is required to study according to the given Syllabus.

    • Language Comprehension
      • This part shall consist of two sections. Coverning Hindi Language Comprehension and English Language Comprehension. Candidates are required to possess linguistic skills in both the languages of the level as is expected of a graduate student who has not had these as special subjects. In both the section, the test paper shall comprise passages for comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, words commonly confused, vocabulary, one-word substitution, spellings, idioms, phrases, syntax, grammer, knowledge of proverbs, figures of speech, legal terms and precis writing, They are required to be reasonably proficient in their knowledge of English Language. There shall be objective-type questions covering some or all the above mentioned areas.
    • General Awareness and Current Affairs
      • This paper shall consist of objective questions pertaining to General Awareness about the major facts relating to Indian & World History/Geography/Environment/Indian Culture; Indian National Movement/ Science & Technology, Contemporary National/Regional/International Political & Economic Perspectives; International Organizations/Treaties etc. along with questions on General Knowledge of traditional nature.
    • Reasoning, Mental Ability and Legal Aptitude
      • Mental Ability and Logical/Mathematical analysis, deductive reasoning, odd even discretion, classification, logical fallacy, analogy, syllogism, Agreement and disagreement to judge the bent of mind of candidates. The question in legal Aptitude is related with constitution/legal system; constitutional/legal principles and practice etc.

    Examination Day Instructions

    Before entering the Exam Centre
    • Try to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the time advised in the admit card. 
    • Before leaving for the site, please have a hearty breakfast or light lunch depending on the session. Drink plenty of fluids; as in summers dehydration can set in affecting your performance in the exam.
    • Have a cookie or a chocolate just before entering the centre; this prevents hypoglycaemia and thus helps you stay alert longer improving your results.
    • If it is a busy centre, then don’t wait till last for the entry and security check.
    • Centre will not allow you to enter after the stipulated time of closing the doors.
    • Admission to the Exam Centre is with the Admit Card; no candidates shall be admitted to the test without the production of the Admit Card at the Test Centre.
    • Usually no bags are allowed.
    • No eatables are allowed.
    • No communication equipment such as mobile phones / pager/ wireless set, scanner, camera or any such electronic / digital gadget etc are allowed in the exam centre; carrying one will lead to disqualification.
    • Calculators are allowed / not allowed in the exam.

    After entering the centre 

    • Once candidates enter the centre, they should locate their designated hall and seat. 
    • After all the formalities, candidates should enter the allotted hall and take the designated seat. 
    • No candidate shall be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the expiry of half of the time allotted for the respective paper.
    • Copying, use of unfair means of any kind, talking, asking questions from other candidates or borrowing of material inside the Test Centre is strictly prohibited. 
    • Smoking is a not allowed. 
    • Misbehaviour of any kind can lead to expulsion of the candidate.
    • Caught copying helping in copying will mean cancellation of the answer sheet / cancellation of the candidature.

    Every candidate can view his/her Answer Sheet within one month of declaration of Results by paying a token amount Rs. 100/- at Pravesh Bhawan.

    The merit of candidates shall be prepared on the basis of computed marks obtained by the candidates in of the Test. Admissions shall be done strictly in order of merit determined on the basis of the computed Test Score of the Candidates. 

    All applications for the Test shall be provisional. If the candidate has filled in any wrong information, his admission may be cancelled at any stage.

    AU LAT 2020 Admission Procedure

    Admission to this course will be done through an Entrance Test by online mode to be held at All India Level and by offline mode only in the city of Allahabad at the centres allotted by the University of Allahabad. The Candidate shall make their own arrangements for travel and stay for appearing the admission test and shall not be entitled to any TA/DA.
