How To Apply 

The following steps are to be followed to fill the application online

Step 1: New applicant registration

• The applicant should first register by clicking "New applicant" button.
• Subsequently, an application number will be generated.
• Upon successful registration, click on the “Login” button to proceed. 

Step 2: Login

• If registered user, login with the Email-ID / Application number.

Step 3: fill the online application form

• Provide all relevant details, before submission of application.
• Photograph size should not exceed 50 KB and in jpg/jpeg format only.
• All the documents / certificates should be uploaded in PDF format only.
• Select “Payment” option from the menu to make online fee payment.
• Refer your application number for all your future correspondence.

Step 4: Payment of Registration Fee through Online

• Electronic payment through Net banking/Credit card/Debit card
• On successful payment, applicant can print the payment receipt and the filled-in application
• At the time of transaction, if the amount is debited please do not fill a new application and wait for 24 hours and try for the payment once again with the same E-mail ID
• If the amount is not debited, you can try the payment again
• OR
• Application can be downloaded from https://gsat.gitam.edu/
• Filled-in application along with Demand Draft (Rs. 600/- drawn in favour of GITAM payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank) and photocopies of the certificates should reach the Principal, GITAM Institute of Science, GITAM (Deemed to be University) Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530 045, A.P., India on or before 25th April, 2020 

Note:1. Candidates appearing for more than one program need to submit separate application along with the prescribed fee of Rs.600/- for each program

Note:2. For best view, use Internet Explorer while filling the application online, do not use the 'Back' button on the tool bar of your browser. Use the links and buttons available on the page to move from one page to other. Advised to close all the open browser windows after the complete process of online application to avoid unauthorized access

Question Paper Pattern:

The Question paper for Physical Sciences (Test Code: 101), Life Sciences (Test Code: 102) and Chemical Sciences (Test Code: 103) consists of two parts: (Part-A and Part-B).

All questions in the question paper will be based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Aptitude and Communicative Ability-Comprising of 20 MCQs. This part may consist of Mathematical Aptitude, Analytical Skills and English Language. Each question carries one mark. This is common for Physical Sciences, Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences. 

For Physical Sciences (Test Code-101): 

Part-B: Domain Knowledge-This part consist of THREE Sections (A, B and C) comprising of total 40 MCQs. An applicant is required to attempt any 20 questions. Each question carries two marks. In case the candidate attempts more than 20 questions, first 20 questions will be taken into consideration for evaluation.

• Section-A covers the syllabus for Mathematics and Statistics 
• Section-B covers the syllabus for Physics and Electronics
• Section-C covers the syllabus for Computer science

For Life Sciences (Test Code-102): 

Part-B: Domain Knowledge-This part consist of FOUR Sections (A, B, C and D) comprising of total 40 MCQs. An applicant is required to attempt any 20 questions. Each question carries two marks. In case the candidate attempts more than 20 questions, first 20 questions will be taken into consideration for evaluation.

• Section-A covers the syllabus for Biochemistry 
• Section-B covers the syllabus for Biotechnology
• Section-C covers the syllabus for Environmental Science
• Section-D covers the syllabus for Microbiology and Food Science

For Chemical Sciences (Test Code-103): 

Part-B: Domain Knowledge-This part consists of ONE Section-comprising of total 40 MCQs. An applicant is required to attempt any 20 questions. Each question carries two marks. In case the candidate attempts more than 20 questions, first 20 questions will be taken into consideration for evaluation. This section covers the syllabus for Chemistry.

• Candidates are advised to come to the examination hall at least half an hour before the commencement of the test.
• Candidates will not be admitted into the examination hall without hall ticket or after the commencement of the test. They will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the stipulated time.
• Calculators, cell phones, books, papers, logarithm tables, slide-rule or any other calculating aids are not allowed into the examination hall.
• Candidates should answer only on the answer sheet.
• The Chief Superintendent of the test centre can take disciplinary action on candidates involved in indiscipline, malpractice, impersonation etc. and the answer scripts of such candidates will not be valued. 

Admission / Selection for Postgraduate Programs:

Admission into various postgraduate programs (M.Sc./MCA) is based on the rank obtained in GSAT-2020. For Divis Laboratories sponsored program: M.Sc. Chemistry (Analytical) admission is based on the rank obtained in GSAT-2020 and interview.
