Academic Session Dates Remain The Same For ICSE Schools: Declared By The CISCE

The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) recently declared the opening dates for academic sessions. The council has announced that the final exams for ICSE and ISC boards will not be held on February-March as scheduled before. The exams will be delayed, and the dates will be announced later. But according to the CISCE, the academic sessions for 2021-2022 will start in March as in the previous years.

Gerry Arathoon, CISCE chief executive and secretary recently said,” Please be informed that the two matters are unrelated. Without a doubt, the schedules for the ICSE & ISC 2021 Examinations will not take place at the regular time in February/March, given the current pandemic situation in the country and notwithstanding the upcoming elections in five states as well. The dates for the examinations will be announced later, at the appropriate time.”

The suspension of the examinations aroused questions about the beginning of the academic year in many schools. To clear all the confusion, the council generated a circular mentioning that the beginning of the academic year for the schools, under the council shall be from the middle of March and the first week of June. And for the hill area schools the academic session shall be from February similar to each year.

The CISCE requested all the affiliated schools of the council to maintain this uniformity about the academic session 2021-22 to avoid any problems further. This circular needs to be followed strictly in the schools of India as well as abroad to have that linear pattern everywhere.
