CLAT 2020 Postponed to 28th September 2020

NEW DELHI: The Common Law Admission Test or CLAT exam 2020 has been postponed by the Consortium of National Law Universities. As per an official notice that came out, the CLAT exam 2020 which was previously scheduled to be conducted on 7th September, would now be held on 28th September 2020.

The decision for postponing the CLAT exam was taken by the executive committee during the review meeting which was held on 27th August 2020. During the review meeting, the situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic leading to lockdowns subsequently in West Bengal and Bihar was greatly focused on, while taking the decision.

An official statement was produced that during the meeting, the executive committee has looked considerably into the already going on situations of lockdowns across the country, while focusing mainly on West Bengal for the 7th September, and continued lockdown in Bihar for the 6th September, while announcing their decision. It further added that the exam CLAT 2020 which was scheduled to be conducted on 7th September, for both Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate candidates, has been postponed to be held on 28th September 2020, timing from 14:00 to 16:00 hours.

The board has concluded that any instructions about the CLAT Examination 2020 that is further required can be found on their website.

All the 22 National Law Universities across the country, treat CLAT as the national level entrance exam for providing admission to the students in Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate programs of Law offered by them.  

CLAT 2020 is to be conducted through online mode at prepared and adequate centres throughout the country.
