The Film and Television Institute, Pune offers several scholarships to a number of limited foreign nationals students who have joined either of the three-year diploma course in Film and Television or a one-year postgraduate certification course on television. These scholarships can be availed by the foreign nationals at the time of admission, and it can be continued if they perform their best in the annual examinations like theory, practical exams, and project making conducted later by the FTII in the prescribed academic year. The state board also offers scholarships to pursue the FTII course to students belonging to their state, and several trusts reward the students with memorial awards.
The FTII is making continuous efforts to provide financial support to foreign national students who have enrolled for the postgraduate certification courses, some of the scholarships provided by the FTII are listed below:
● 7 Scholarships worth Rs 12,500 for toppers in the film wing courses
● 5 scholarships for 1st-semester students against common module course, worth a maximum of Rs 24,000
● Rs 24,000 worth scholarship for the University topper
● Rs 24,000 worth scholarship for Screenplay writing topper
● Rs 13,500 worth scholarship for the runner ups in an academic course
● The “Kamalakar Scholarship” is provided to almost 2 students of worth Rs 5000, who tops the final diploma examination in Film Editing Students
● The “Phalke Memorial Honour” Scholarship is awarded to almost 2 best students in final diploma examination, of worth Rs 2500
● The “Baburao Patel Scholarship” of worth Rs 5000 to a meritorious student in final diploma examination
● The “Kumudi Ranade” scholarship of worth Rs 5000 to the best girl student in final year diploma course
● The “Jagadish Batra Memorial” scholarship of worth Rs 500 for a most deserving student in final examination diploma in cinematography
● The “K.A. Abbas Prize” of worth Rs 6000 for the entrance exam topper
● The “Nandini Sanyal Scholarship” worth Rs 5000 for a deserving student in term end examinations of course in editing
● The “Kodak Cinematography Award” worth Rs 15000 for second-year topper in Cinematography
● The “Dolby Scholarship” of Rs 500 for topper from second-year Audiography stream
● The “Vindhu Vinod Chopra” scholarship of worth Rs 25000 to the topper of the second semester in Film Direction and Screenplay Writing course
● The “Kaifi Azmi Scholarship” of worth Rs 50000 to the best student in acting course
● The “Bachchan Patra Scholarship” worth Rs 50,000 for a best student from a fresher year in acting
● The “Krishna Gopal Scholarship” worth Rs 25,000 for second-year Cinematography topper
● The “Inlaks Scholarship” worth Rs 1,00,000 for best students from screenplay writing and acting, based on the resumes and interview
● The “Fireworks production Scholarship” worth rs 25,000 for a needy student who chooses a course in Camera or Direction
● The “Prabhat Best Direction Award” worth Rs 11,000 rewarded at the time of completion of the Diploma course
● The “V.G. Damage Sound Recording Award” worth Rs 11,000 rewarded at the time of completion of the diploma course
● The “Shatrughan Sinha Scholarship” worth Rs 25,000 every year for the best fresher student in acting
● The “Ms. Renu Saluja” scholarship worth Rs 90,000 every year to third-year students in FTII based on the second year term-end examinations result
● The “IIFA Resul Pookutty Foundation Fellowship” scholarship worth Rs $5000 to the best PG Diploma student
● The “Late Mr. Sushant Arora Scholarship” for a maximum of Rs 80,000 for entrance exam topper of IIFT
● The “S.N. Agarwal Scholarship” worth Rs 20,000 for entrance exam toppers who choose Cinematography and Sound stream
● The “State Scholarship” for SC/ST/OBC as per the state rules and regulations
