Some of the best economic colleges in India are all in Delhi and accredited to Delhi University. All these colleges are commonly called Delhi University Colleges. A student can opt for Economics as a subject in various streams including science as well as arts/humanities stream.


Economics teaches the various techniques for the optimal and proper utilization of resources that give desired outputs while meeting maximum demands.


In India a student can opt for Economics subject many streams as discussed above and includes commerce, science, humanities and arts stream. Economic hons courses give more detailed information about economics and are preferred over plain economics subject.

1.Delhi School of Economics (DSE)
Established in 1949, DSE is one of the finest institutions in the country. It has two departments including Faculty of Social Sciences consisting of Departments of Economics, Sociology, Geography and Faculty of Commerce and Business in Department of Commerce


2.Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC)
Shri Ram College of Commerce is another one of the most sought-after colleges in Delhi University. Founded in 1926, it is best known for its academic excellence and placements in the fields of banking and finance, general management, civil services and academics. Courses offered are undergraduate and postgraduate courses in B.Com (Hons), BA Economics (Hons), M. Com, MA Economics as well as PG Diploma in Management.


3.St. Stephen’s College
St. Stephen’s College iis one of the best Economics colleges in India. Built in the year 1881 St. Stephen’s was under Calcutta University and later to Punjab University. It is a is a religious minority college and reserves 50%  seats for Christian students. On offer is BA Economics (Hons.) for students.


4.Lady Shri Ram College (LSR)
The Lady Shri Ram College, popularly called LSR was established in 1956 and is an all girls college. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Social Science, Humanities and Commerce.


5.Hindu College
Again one of the oldest establishment founded in the year 1899, Hindu College was affiliated to Punjab University and later got affiliated to Delhi University. It has a world famous alumni. It offers courses including undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Social Science, Humanities and Commerce.


6.Hans Raj College
It was established in the year 1948 and the college is quite popular for its placements. It offers varied courses in economics. 


7.Ramjas College
Ramjas College was founded in 1917, making it one of the oldest and one of the first three colleges in Delhi. The college offers various courses including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Liberal Arts, Sciences and Commerce.

8.Kirori Mal College (KMC)
Kirori Mal College, founded in 1954, is another very popular college and ranks among the top 10 economic colleges of Delhi University. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various subjects including Science, Arts, Humanities and Commerce. 


9.Miranda House
Established in the year 1948, it is another all-girls college of Delhi University. Miranda House offers BA in economics.


10.Sri Venkateswara College
Sri Venkateswara College was established in the year 1997 and was setup to provide quality education to South Indian students. Now there are no reservations and is one of the top institutions in the country. On offer are undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of commerce, science and arts.
