Nowadays Short-term courses, internships, skills development programs, and such courses are not only meeting the growing needs in society but also provide job opportunities to students. This pandemic of covid-19 had led to the importance of health symbolizing the survival of the fittest. This has also commenced health-related programs that offer students both skills and a satisfying career, these newer short-term programs that incorporate skill development and vocational streams. This article provides information on some of the diploma /certificate programs that not only cater to the emerging needs of society but also provide job opportunities to undergraduates.
Geriatric Care Management: With an increase in the elderly population throughout the world, this program concentrates on how to help older people to live independently with good physical, psychological, social, economic, cognitive, and environmental functions.
Students who specialize in this field will work on conserving these functions and improving the quality of life. As many private hospitals offer home care services, a diploma program in this section would assist to provide basic knowledge and skills to evaluate, treat and manage health-related issues in the older community.
Optometry: With the increase in the use of the laptop, mobile, and other digital screens, care of the eyes has become essential today. This course involves a critical study of diagnosis, treatment, and managing complications of the visual system. Plenty of job opportunities are present in eye-care hospitals and clinics.
Nursing Assistants: As the name refers, they help nurses in hospitals and clinics to carry out the fundamental health parameters, prepare beds, offer bedside assistance, and provide tools/instruments in operation arenas. This is a one-year program and seeing the demand for healthcare professionals, most applicants are assured of placement while still working in their apprenticeship.

This is a one-year diploma course that will help candidates deal with people who possess such difficulties.
